Jeff, you ever come up against one of those viper trucks?I sat in one at the dealership when they first hit the lot, but they wouldn't let me test drive it...

+1 on the G. Think about an auto. With the manual mode, you are closer to a MT than you think. There are more auto cars out there too= better selection!

They test the new Pontiac G8 against some 425HP SRT/8 Dodge. The times they report are not that different than a 07+ G35.

I beat one with my Hemi Ram on the street. I lost to them a few times at the track.

A 4 door SRT ram runs a 13.7-14.0 at 100-103 mph, just like a 07 G35 sedan A 4 door Hemi ram runs a 15.9-16.2 at 80-82 mph.

MY 4 door Hemi ram was running 14.0's at 98-99 mph when it started breaking.

AT THE TRACK my G35 runs a 14.0 to a SRT 8 cars 13.6.

Too bad you didn't have a Shelby...

Any of you guys drove the Grand Cherokee SRT-8?

It is fast as hell. Sounds good too. On gas it is horrible but hey can't get everything.

As a matter of fact, I got behind one yesterday. Rolled the windows down to take a listen....."rolled the windows down"....Reminds me of when I was looking for cars for my daughter. Found her a year old base Sentra with crank-em-up windows. She got in the car, looked at the window handle and said "what's this for" .....

Sorry, lost focus. It sounded good!

I was thinking about getting a mustang too before the G. Me personally..... i would stay with the G because how many 16 year olds can say they have a G35? As opposed to all the kids out here just getting there licenses and want to get a mustang.

The problem is weight, my buddy here in Phoenix has a SRT-8 Charger that runs 12's year round. Even been in the 11's a few times.

The 370 cu motor is bored and stroked to 426 cu. It has a 75 hp shot of nitrous for just in case. Dual throttle bodies... ect and is a daily driver.

Last time I was at the track I did a ride along with him and shot some video.

Here is his Silver Charger vs a supercharged SRT-8 300. His charger runs a 12.57 the 300 runs a 12.90. Correction factor that night was .968, so in perfect weather the 12.57 is a 12.16. Thats on street tires not drag radials.

Jeff, did someone tell the driver not to go faster than 14.5? At a race track?

Nice run.

Yeah with me in the front seat he is only allowed to go 14.0. The spotter said 14.0 twice and then said 14.5 the final time.... I think that was a 14.2 run

heres the video of the supercharged black 300 vs the 426 charger

Don't hold back now, tell us how you really feel! Everytime you post about Fords, I think of my 84 Daytona Turbo Crapo

BTW, Nissan is recalling possibly 23K 06 coupes

Looks like they are recalling a few 08 EX's due to airbags too.....

Last edit...Reminds me. I bought my 69 Mach in 1978.The driver's seat was kind of broken on the right side where the seat back was connected to the seat. I finally got a recall in 1979 for the seat back. They fixed it! Evidently, numerous other folks had their seat backs recline unexpectedly while driving down the road. Surprisingly, this caused a few wrecks. Only took Furd 9 years to figure this out I suppose.

Ford spokesman Wesley Sherwood says internal testing showed the air bag could injure a small, unbelted passenger.

I guess there are still people out there who just refuse to follow a few simple rules. Buckle up people. Put your kids in car seats.

First, as a owner of a 06 Mustang GT and a 05 G35 coupe, both are great cars.

GT: Fun to drive, easy to mod, cheap to mod, Looks killer for those liking muscle looks, tons of parts and cheaper to buy new.

G: Sleeker looking, more refined interior and girls love them. (i get more compliments from guys on my mustang than girls)

I drive my mustang, bought the g35 for my wife

ps. dont my the chevy pos. The transmission is horrible, the rear end is junk. Yes it has a nice motor, but as soon as you mod it, you better replace the transmission and rear end = $$$$

me, i love the stang. I wouldnt trade it for the wifes g35, but thats just me. I love muscle cars. That doesnt mean the g35 is crap because we all know its one hell of a car. If they never came out with the retro style stang, i would be owning a TT g35 for myself.

Here is my stang: Has a hellion turbo kit, full suspension and the body (which you can see).

I'll bet that was my old Ford? Mine wouldn't run either whenever it rained. It also had a 352 cu police intercepter engine. The AM radio worked

Great idea. We'll need to have some $$$ to start it up. Maybe a garage sale. I hear you've got a few parts you're not using...

sadly ive spent more time and money with the g35 in the shop then i have my mustang. Actaully, ive never had to do anything to my stang since i bought it new in 06.

G35 had a tire pressure light that wouldnt go off - reset the sensorcheck engine light kept coming on and off at random times - reset ecuStock cd player wouldnt read any discs - replaceddriver and passenger seat warmers dont work - trying to get them to fix this still.
