Give a few central Missouri meatheads a badge and a fancy suit and they think they're god.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbwSwvUa ... r_embedded#!

Caption from video: This video shows a search warrant served by the Columbia Mo. police department. The cops bust in this guys house in the middle of the night and shoot his two dogs (one a pit bull that was caged in the kitchen and the other a Corgi) with children in the home. it turns out that rather than a big time drug dealer, this guy had a small pipe with some resin in it, a grinder, and what the cops here call "a small amount of marijuana" (meaning less than a few grams). We here in Columbia want everyone to know what kind of police department we have here, check out our "finest" in action.

It is very disturbing how trigger happy our "public servants" have become lately.

They seriously shot a Corgi. And they only wounded it...

Can't say i'm a bit surprised by this. I'm sure there's much worse that goes on when there isn't cameras on.

It's a double-edged sword. As a police officer you want to make the big busts, confiscate the mass quantities, and get the dealers off the streets. However, for the sake of all of the innocent non-violent citizens there are, you HAVE to make sure your information is accurate. that's as much a part of your job as making the arrest. You have to make sure your "snitch" is telling the truth. And shooting the dogs, Seriously? The one in the cage? In front of the children? How F'ed up is that?

With the speed trap in Foristell, the St George department that was disbanded (and the former chief arrested for diddling kids), and now Columbia, there seem to be a growing number of corrupt little cop shops in Missouri.

So very true. People suck, pets are awesome. I'd protect my (or my friends'/family's) pets like I would protect my friends and family.

I'd get arrested for attempting to take 5 officer's lives rather than dealing drugs.

"The actions of police who shot two dogs they described as 'aggressive' " .

No sh*t they were being aggressive. You barged into their home and they're going to protect their owners. What else did they think dogs would do?

Good thing those guys flushed the 3 kilo's of meth just before they showed up, otherwise this would have been a big "win" for the PD and in a much better light.

after a full day of work, don't take your stank a** feet and rub them all up in my dog's fur. he sleeps in bed with me, that's gross.

telling a dog "no" isn't disciplining it. big difference.

Cops suck Period. The one's around here are trigger happy *** hats. Since January I know of at 3 incidents where people were shot and killed "by accident". One said he fell on top of his gun, and shot "the suspect" in the neck. He was like 10 feet in front of him. His neighbor said the cop outright shot him.

Most cops are honest and good at their jobs, but a bad cop can have a huge negative impact on society and on many lives.

A friend/acquaintance of mine was shot dead in Miami Beach in a misunderstanding with a police officer last year, he was completely unarmed.

Wow. If cops came in my house and shot my animals and arrested me for under an ounce of weed. I'd identify everyone in that video, file individual complaints against each officer, I'd get a crazy media campaign going and then move out of the area, while waiting for my settlement check.

We had cops try to preform a less than text book bust in suffolk and someone(LEO) got shot through the door. But they didn't annouce themselves and were all plainclothes. And then after ward found nothing illegal in the home and arrested him for shooting someone in what I would call an obvious home invasion if you were inside the home.

Sad. I hope Cops never come to my house for anything. This scares me that I might get beaten within an inch of my life and the offenders not only get paid by me but are supposed to help me.

This is surprising, assaulting a police officer, even if they're off duty is a big no no... SUrprised that person is alive still

"Go into someone's home and shoot their dogs...and then charge them with child endangerment?"

Honestly....who the f*** would actually shoot a Corgi? Are they really that threatening?

"acting in an uncontrollably ( <-- exageration?) aggressive manner" ...Well, no s***? Who would have ever guessed a dog would do that when strangers enter someone's house.

I know multiple persons who would shoot through a door not caring who is on the other side, combine that mentality with no uniforms and guns drawn, kicking down that person's door in the more rural part of Hampton Roads. I mean those officers asked to be shot at, if that's how they go about busting people.

Also not to long ago a plain clothes officer got shot by the Officer arriving on the scene.

My disdain for our "public defenders" grows each day. If they busted into my house and shot my dog in front of my kids over some pot, I'd have half a mind to kill the mother f***. I might try. While police are a necessary aspect of modern life, they are an aspect that I wish would go away. Cops are scum.

I believe much of what harms the reputation of police is a tendency for less professional departments to deny fault and maintain the status quo.

I donate to the FOP and support law enforcement, but the armed monkeys with badges who call themselves "officers of the law" should be punished. They do a disservice to the community, harm/kill/injure innocent people, and make their profession look bad.

Agreed Jesda. I have no problem with cops who are trying to make a difference and not just make a buck for the government. But it seems the more and more that I think about it that it seems that police and law enforcement are just ways of gaining state and federal revenue. If a cop writes just two tickets during his day, the cost of those 2 tickets are probably going to be enough to compensate his daily wages. I have a LOT of problems with our legal and justice systems. The older I get, the more I wish I could start my own civilization. One without all of the US' problems.
