Police Officers are human's, and because they are human you do get a small percentage of a$$ that make everyone else look bad, just like a small percentage of minorities give a bad reputation to the rest of the minorities. Cops have to deal with the absolute worst in people and society every single day, it's an accepted part of the job, but some people just don't get it, or slip through the cracks, or plain out have someone on the inside who gets them into the force. If you want to hate on cops it's either because you are doing something to get their attention for them to "harass" you, or you live in an area where people fitting your description are a major source of problems. With the exception of some smaller departments there are just as many minority as there are white cops (Philly PD is 60% black for example), so while racial profiling does happen it's not as regular an occurrence as it once was.
As far as shooting the dogs is concerned, they were simply following protocol, albeit they were a little extreme, most cops would have just pepper sprayed the dogs but in a raid when you have to have full situational awareness but are hampered by kids screaming, adults, screaming, and dogs barking, you need to take something out of that equation, people are easy to contain, kids can be taken outside and adults can be cuffed and sat down, animals you can't contain without animal control being present and if they had in fact raided this guys house before then animal control should have been on scene to take the dogs out after the house was breached and cleared, plain and simple.
If you want to hate cops try putting yourself in their shoes, contact your local Police Dept. Civil Affairs unit and ask if you can go for a ride along. If you can than do it, and make sure to tell the cop you're assigned to ride with how you feel about the police, He/She will make sure to show you the worse parts of the job and then show you all the good things they do to help the community.
Nah, I don't buy any of that, save for the "there are jerks in every profession" stuff. When you're a cop, you are accepting a responsibility that most people do not have. You are voluntarily carrying that weight as a part of your job. Using it as an excuse to behave poorly and not do your job properly is just another disgusting excuse by a pig to take a dump on society.
They didn't know the situation when they went in. "Adrenaline" is not an excuse for this BS. I have been in, and know plenty of people who have been in, high adrenaline situations where this kind of crap could have happened. It didn't. You want to know why? Becuase the people involved weren't trigger happy s***. Each and every one of them that fired a shot deserves to be dumped in an unmarked grave somewhere. If someone came in my house over whatever small little bit of weed the guy had (I would never have any because the stuff disgusts me btw) and shot my Shiba, I would make it my life's mission to return whatever harm they did to my pet, a member of my family, tenfold.
I've ridden with cops before. Some of my best friends in high school became cops. They're decent people, I know they would never pull this kind of thing, because they are not trigger happy idiots. People who just generically hate on cops are idiots, that's for sure. However, there are enough cops worth hating for their actions, and every last poor excuse for a human being in that video is one of them. They honestly don't deserve the air they breathe, and I genuinely hope some day that the thugs in that video get what's coming to them when they actually do find a real drug dealer some day.
