Alright so my headlights like to stay up, Ive already taken the combo switch out and cleaned the contacts and it made no difference. If I manually lower them they will come back up if I turn on the headlights or push the headlight button. I do notice that the H/L RET DOWN relay will click whenever I push the headlight button after they are up.

Ive been reading this thread: headlights-won-t-pop-up-t93611-90.html

so I whipped out my multi meter and started getting to work, Ive tested terminal #3 and got 12v when the lights on like it says. then whenever I test #9 on the HL timer I get nothing. Also I get nothing on terminal #26. I'm not sure on where to go at this point...

Headlight actuator may be old. I had the same issue when I had mine. They're relatively cheap and easy to install

This is what helped me with mine tonight. how-to-fix-your-headlight-problems-t280461.html My headlight dimmer/turn signal switch didn't have a plug on it so my headlights wouldn't go down. That was one reason mine didn't go down and I plugged in my friends and it worked. But give that forum a look and see.

I found out it was the headlight motor brushes. I'm just going to replace them.

It sounds a little wierd that the light wouldn't retract because of the brushes, since the same brushes were able to rais the lights in the first place.

I had resigned to my lights being always up, although they would turn on and off just fine.
Finally the lever got stuck in high beam and had to replace it. This magically also took care of the lights not retracting problem.
