If NIssan used HIgh Temp silicone, then were're fu*ked! Some of those have melting temperatures up to 600 degrees farenheit. As the gentleman mentioned, I think the plastic housing's melting temp is lower than that....

However, if I recall correctly, the guys on the forum that did this broke off the plastic tab and then used either a heating gun or the oven. In any case, best of luck to anyone that wants to try this on their $700 factory Xenon housings or their $400 standard ones!

yeah its really weird how he was able to do it... Igor showed me what is in all other nissans and infinitis... its more of a jelly sealant, and in our cars, its a hard silicon...

I just got them back, one needs to be replaced, Igor is taking care of all of it and has been great!

Well this just sucks! So here's the bonus question boys and girls...are the two types of headlights the same or different. Other words, are the Xenon housings different from the standard housings?

Brian, you have a 2.5 that had the standard headlights, same as Kanejuice and KPSolja has a 3.5, just like mine. Both were able to do their headlights DIY. Hmmmm..makes me wonder if Nissan is using two different suppliers of headlights.

Screw it! I'm going to do this mod on 4th of July weekend and installing my Raceline endinks too which came in today. WOOT!!!!!

its visible before you open the enclosure, its more of a... plastic material, as opposed to some sort of "jelled sealant"

Your post is confusing though, kane had a 2.5 and was able to do it (for whatever reason). You have a 3.5 (it could be made by the other manufacturer) but you have to examine it.

probably in another year or so... if they did them for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation headlights, then

Also in regards to the headlights remember how some of our cars have the truck release in different spots, some near the KEY FOB and others near the vdc off button. Maybe we can see if some can bake and others can't, due to revision changes ???

I was wondering if those who were successful at taking apart the lights could post some vin sticker info like date manufactured and revision # if it has one, so maybe we can get an idea of which ones can be taken apart and which ones can't.
