Whats up guys, it's Igor.
Have some sad news...
As much as I wanted to open up these headlights, and looked forward to working with the rest of you guys here, it doesn't look like its going to happen. You guys are VERY unfortunate, these headlights do not open without heavy modification (cutting the headlight open).
I looked at one of the DIY's and the guy opened the headlight by baking it like any other headlight, but I don't see how thats the case, these headlights are sealed with silicone, once that silicone dries, its hard as a rock, and it's melting temperature without a doubt surpasses the melting temperature of the actual plastic housing.
I've opened up headlights on about every Nissan and Infiniti out there (previous gen Altimas, Maximas, G35's, M45's, Muranos, Pathfinders, FX's) which were all manufactured by Ichiko, a headlight/taillight manufacture for all Nissans/Infiniti's, but it seems that the new Altima headlights are made by a different manufacture, and they used a cheap way to seal them, the headlights aren't even screwed together, simply glued together w/ silicone.
In the process of trying to open LBC's headlights, one of the tabs melted, and I'm compensating him for the damage, or offering to buy him another headlight.
It sucks that Nissan is starting to cheapen up their cars with ****tier quality products, hope its not going to be the case with the rest of the Nissans, or else I'll be out of business.
Good luck guys, hopefully theres someone out there that might be able to open these headlights another way.
Take care.
