well no. the lower shield is what prevents light from going up. lower/drop the shield and more light passes upward. the rear shield removed completely will create a giant spot light. begin to slide the shield upward from the bottom and the light begins to be reduced in the highbeam area.Rogue Noob wrote:@Stricken - that is crazy that removing a LOWER shield prevents light from going up. Very cool pic.
Now that I think about it, it was obvious the Rogue has 2 sets of bulbs. From what I read a few years ago, an HID system does not work well as a flash-to-pass system, I think bulb integrity was the issue for quick on and off. Since we can do that and it looks normal (not like a purple Xenon bulb that isn't heated up) I should have put 2 and 2 together.
The only thing I don't like about the Xenon is the bulbs don't match the foglights. They put zero effort into make a bulb with the same spectrum. Purplish on top, yellow on the bottom. Oh well. Has anyone changed those out to match a little more closely?
and becareful with the "flash to pass" when the lights are off. flashing the highbeams, automatically activates the low-beam xenons. the only time its really safe to "flash" the highbeams is when the headlights are already on.
