From their website:

HID Projector retrofitting requires you to provide a set of headlights for us to complete the final product. Pricing includes set of headlights to be converted, not including any additional product, shipping, or surcharge fees. All conversions come featured with a full craftsmanship and condensation warranty. Please read our Policy section for more details.

HID Projector retrofitting allows us to convert your current headlights with the best available technology. This highly specialized service we offer involves installing HID projectors into reflector-based headlights, or if the car already comes with projectors, we can replace them with ones of better quality and performance. This allows the customer to obtain the absolute best performance available on the market without any compromises. These conversions are hand built by our team on a per order basis so you can count on the attention to detail and high levels of quality.

Base labor costs on a single projector retrofit conversion range between $375-$1130. Costs will vary depending on application type, sealant type, and parts used in the conversion. Please contact us directly for a quote on labor.
That seems like at lot of money for each headlight. Was this the average price shopping around?

Can't wait to see the finish product!! :dblthumb:

They quoted me a labor charge, which is for the entire job. Painting was separate. Its going to be over 1000 with hardware.

It was just a quick mock up pic, trying to figure how im going to configure the color scheme when they get to me.

I would mock up a frontal shot, but i shipped the shrouds with the headlights, so i don't have a way to superimpose them.

Doesn't the car come with HID lights? I'm assuming this is just a MOD to go to a projector based setup? 1000 sounds steep for what seems like a lateral move. Should look cool though.

It's a shame, but not all the Rogues come with HID...

Yes, I am very aware that i'm paying on the high end for this job, but essentially its all breaks down to esthetics.
I could get all the stuff and do a ok job myself, maybe.

I just want to be rest assured that it gets done right and looks as good as it can.

You can't get a rogue with (Projector) hids. You can only get Xenon headlights with hid bulbs, so basically, i am, like i said, doing it for the esthetics.

It will be my best lateral move, imo.

ha

Besides i'm bored.

Okay, so not all Rogues come with HID (didn't know that), but this one in particular does. How will this affect your ability to use the brights? If my memory serves correct, the current setup changes the angle of the bulb while a projector based system usually has a regular bulb for brights. Will the projector do that or are you just losing that feature?

My other car actually has a projector system, but not HID (odd right?). Many people swap out a lot of TSX or S2000 projectors but even on the used market they are 300-400. I almost did it but the making it level and the adjustment part always seemed to have been under-stated from all the DIY threads I read. I am with you on not wanting to screw it up.

Hopefully you do a ton of night time driving to make it worth while!

Rogue has 2 seperate bulbs for high and low beam, even the one with HID(or Xenon) light. So I believe he only uses the projector light for low beam

we have two different bulbs. one for low and one for high.

some projector systems use the projector just for the low, while some are bi-xenon and have a light shield flap(Shutter) that is activated by a solenoid and that drops the flap to a lower placement to allow the light to pass through the lens.

and this is a picture i just took inside of a 350z headlight projector system. (i had a few extra laying around because i did a couple retrofits for sportbikes using this projector)
you can see the stationary shutter system inside of this headlight. it blocks the bottom(or it would be a high beam)

The Rogue comes with Halogen headlights (non-xenon, non manual adjusting). Canadian Rogues do not have the option for the HID(xenon bulbs & manual adjusting leveler) while the U.S Rogues do come with this option. Or at least when I bought my Canadian Rogue they did not, don't know about now. Anyways any Rogue with the HID has the bulbs and the manual adjuster for manually adjusting the bulbs up and down in relation to how much weight is in the car. Now that I think about it the bulbs might not even be xenons in the Rogue and might be regular Halogen bulbs with the manual flap leveler.

Projectors are on a whole other level in comparison to the Rogue HID's, they emit far less glare, and throw out more usable light with a much sharper cutoff.

The bulbs are Xenons in the Rogue, at least if you get the premium package they are. That is how it was with the 2009 Rogue anyway. I always liked the feature of manually moving the headlights up or down, if some prick cuts me off or something and then is in front of me I move the lights up :naughty:

@Stricken - that is crazy that removing a LOWER shield prevents light from going up. Very cool pic.

Now that I think about it, it was obvious the Rogue has 2 sets of bulbs. From what I read a few years ago, an HID system does not work well as a flash-to-pass system, I think bulb integrity was the issue for quick on and off. Since we can do that and it looks normal (not like a purple Xenon bulb that isn't heated up) I should have put 2 and 2 together.

The only thing I don't like about the Xenon is the bulbs don't match the foglights. They put zero effort into make a bulb with the same spectrum. Purplish on top, yellow on the bottom. Oh well. Has anyone changed those out to match a little more closely?
