Are there any headers out for the ALtima Coupe 3.5 or going to be any?

We are almost finished with our headers for the 2.5...These are coming along very well and should be available within the next 60 days. The initial design and testing will be finished in the next week or so.

Kyle, will the installation be as hard as the 3.5ers? or is DIY easy?

Oct-

It allll depends on your abilities. It will be nowhere near as difficult as the 3.5 because the manifold is right in front. But, I don't know if it is a DIY because I don't know everyone's mechanical experience or abilities. Personally, I would be able to do it in my driveway. There is plenty of room to get to all the necessary spots without busting up your knuckes. The instructions will be VERY detailed and they will essentially just drop into place.

I did a header swap on my eclipse. Similar setup, 2.4L FWD. Took about an hour. First time I had ever done it. Wasn't hard at all. If you know how to use a wrench, you can pull it off Make sure you have a breaker bar and all the new gaskets. That's about it There is plenty of space down there

What makes it hard to install in the 3.5?

Instead of the header coming out of 1 spot on the front on the engine block, like the 2.5. The 3.5 have 2 different sets of headers, because its a V6 transversely mounted for a FWD. 1 set of 3 coming out of the front, and another set of 3 coming out of the back. Sounds easy, but the engine is so crammed in there, its nearly impossible to get in the space allotted between the header/radiator of the front set, and the header/firewall of the rear set. There is just flat out, hardly any space.

should be around 300-350 for the 2.5 becuase we only have ONE header, and the 3.5L has TWO headers because its a V6

They will do testing on both the coupe and sedan before they give a clear cut answer on if it is interchangeable. Seems logical that they will be the same, but they still have to test them all.

The STILLEN header for the QR25DE hasn't been CARB legal before, I doubt they will be now.
nogears909 wrote:hey kyle can you give a lil info on power gains and price?
Power gains around 10-15 whp, 4-6 wtq.

Price should be around the price of the other QR25DE headers' - $500

i saw for older 2.5s it is a header/race pipe combo for around $500, will this be the same or is it just the header piece?

You can't buy just the header. Its a system designed to be cat eliminating.

I think Kyle seriously misquoted the 3.5 headers, considering they go for almost $900 for the 3rd gen Altima 3.5

Can you shed any light on that?
