I've given up all hope in the GT series, so I am nasty and sarcastic. I hope they make the greatest racing sim game ever because if they don't they should consider it a failed experiment.

I hope they change the physics around a bit. Even still I can't wait. Only thing I really care about is that my 1990 240sx is in the game.

It's a brand new physics engine in the demo. It's also a time trial comepetition with the 2 cars they give you (stock and modded 370z). For US and Canada winners (fastest combined time) you win tickets to Indianopolis 500. For other internation countries, a winner will be picked from each, and they will compete for a chance to race for Nissan irl.

Sony has fans pay for the glorified demo that is GT5P and now is releasing a new demo that isn't even based on the same engine, or at least a highly modified version of it? Nice.

Beginning December 17, 2009, the Gran Turismo 5 Time Trial Challenge will be available for download on the PlayStation Network (PSN) store.

Powered by Gran Turismo 5's brand-new physics engine, the Gran Turismo 5 Time Trial Challenge features both a stock and a tuned version of the new Nissan 370Z, and includes two time trial events on a single track, one for each version of the car. Players are invited to put the game through its paces, pushing their driving skills to post their best lap times for both versions of the Nissan 370Z.

Both US and Canada will run their own contest, with separate winners chosen for each country. At the end of the competition period, the winner with the best combined time for both tuned and non-tuned Time Trials will drive away with round trip airfare and hotel accommodations for two (winner and guest) to attend the Indianapolis 500® Mile Race on May 30, 2010, as well as a VIP package which includes two (2) VIP suite tickets and all-access passes to the garage, pit area, and Victory Lane for pre- and post-race celebrations for the race. The VIP package also includes all-access passes for Carb Day®--which includes the final Indy 500® practice, pit stop competition and special concert festivities--as well as special event car rides in the 2010 Indy 500 event vehicle.

There will be one contest for US residents, and a separate contest for Canadian residents, with one winner in each country receiving his or her own Indy 500® prize package. The winner in each country will have to truly be the best by posting the best combined lap time for both Time Trial events. In the event of a tie, the player with the fastest stock non-tuned Time Trial lap time will be deemed the winner. Five runner-ups in the US and five in Canada will receive a voucher to download Gran Turismo for the PSP system.

I will, I guess I'm just patient like that.

GT and Grand Theft Auto are the only games I Really like.

It wouldn't surprise me if I was the only one left who still waited on GT.

I'm guessing that the true challenge here is trying to staying loyal to a game franshise that likes to over-promise and under-deliver.

Back before GT5P was coming out, I thought to myself, "Ok, I'll buy a PS3 when it comes as a package deal with GT5." I still don't own a PS3 and they just restyled it. The wait has killed me. I don't think I'll ever own a PS3 and GT5.

its just a cool marketing gimick. i dont think you could expect them to showcase much of what the game will be on a dl file about 1/4 the size of a cd.

still, its kinda fun & a cool idea as far as the contest, but im far from blown away. ill def be renting first.

Playing it with the controller was awfully difficult. Broke out the G25 and it's amazing. Fastest time so far is a 1'40.982
