Meh, they don't catch on fire, they just have one large combustion process. Besides I beat the CRAP out of my 3800 II and it kept on asking for more. But no doubt it's not in the same league as the VQ, I was just trying to make a funny.

I love the VQ. It is sex. But the 3800 series II is so cheap to work on and get parts for. You can get those things fast for a fraction of the cost it would take on a VQ. Throw a turbo on them and you can goto the moon. Not hard to get a 12 second 3800 series II.

sorry, my BS meter just pinged. Seeing how the first ZR1 just rolled off the production line YESTERDAY, and it was sold for 1 million dollars to a private collector, my thinking is that you DIDNT race a ZR1. Maybe a Z06 and if that, maybe a 485hp 2004 Z06 rather than the 505hp Z06. Even then, i hgihly doubt your mitsu would come close to a Z06. trust me. Vettes are fast. Dont be a noob.

I do like the ZO6 and i bet the ZR1 is going to be even better!

But I still take the GTR... One thing that might be better about the ZR1 is the noise that think must make!

IMHO nothing sounds better than a FI Vette!

reviews all say that the GTR is all bite but no bark. you rev it and it sounds crappy, the G37 is deeper in note. the Corvette small block is one of the iconic engine notes of all time. i just came just thinking about it. MMMM

First off, I hope you are not serious.

Second: You are comparing a non-stock Mitsu to a stock vette, and you didn't even compare it to the right vette -- as was said, the ZR1 literally just came out.

Third: I doubt anybody this ignorant actually runs a 10.7 in the 1/4 mile. That and a c6 vette will easily outhandle your car, so even if you run a better 1/4, who cares? You still drive a 90s Mitus and the other guy is in a nice c6 and could smoke you on any non-drag track in America.

Lastly, Do you know how many 10 second vettes there are? With a vette it doesn't take much (compared to say, oh I don't know, a Mitsu 4cyl). If you just throw a solid power adder on there you'll be real close. Here is just one exampe of a Vette doing much better than 10.7. http://videos.streetfire.net/v...5.htm That is a 9.3 in case you missed it. I knew a guy running a 427 c3 vette in the 9s with one heck of a rearend (4.88, but he was going to up it to a 5 something).

Um so you guys know, there is a ZR-1 Corvette out there.....From 1990-1995 Chevy produced the original ZR1 based off the C4 body. It came with the LT5 5.7 partially designed by Lotus. It had 32 valves and made 400 hp with a 7000 rpm redline. It went 0 - 60 in 4.2 seconds, 1/4 in the high 12's up to a top speed of 185. It looked pretty much exactly the same as every other C4 Vette but it had a 4" wider rear end and 4 square taillights instead of the circles. Now saying that, it's not much quicker than a stock C5 or C6 Vette, so um...it's not a huge kill.

The vette in the video isn't a regular vette, it is a dragster. I can't take such a car home to the wife, else she will ask me to return it to whomever I bought it from, for fear of loosing moi to an uncontrollable machine.

I thought our argument on the topic of vettes was about regular vettes that don't leap out of their skin, or shake the ground on which they stand on. The vette in that video leaps uncontrollably and shakes the ground on which is stands.

It's sooooo hard to see anything in it ><, even though they were both terrible drivers it was still nice to see. Looks like that LOW end torque and horsepower on the vette really helps at a 60+kph run.

I have to disagree with that video, not because a GTR is being flogged but because, we don't really know if the owner of the GTR was really pushing the car the way it was supposed to. On top of that, we don't know if he had the right transmission setting, suspension setting, and traction control settings. All these facts are important to the performance of a GTR.

lol comon guys ZR1 Z06 will beat a R35 95% of the time straight line. Don't compare straight line preformances with these 2 cars. The GTR again is MEANT for CORNERING not straight line. SC V8 with 6.3 liter engine versus 3.8 liter TT V6....

it is doubtful the size of the engine will have anything to do with the performance. Porsche are a good example of this---they rarely have anything beyond a 3.6 L engine. Formula 1 cars are a great example as their engine sizes are about 3.0 L. Perhaps, the SC on the vette could be a factor, but again, the conditions I stated above are still important factors to be considered when dealing with the GTR.

And the GTR's TT has been restricted so much, so that it can pass California's ultra low emissions requirment. The engine of the GTR can technically go beyond 600 horsepower, and for a 3.8 L engine, that is impressive.

I doubt I'll ever be able to say that about a GT-R......without a winning lotto ticket!!!
