no it wont be smog exempt; but after 25 years you CAN register it as a classified vehicle

that means no inspection in PA

i got 6 years till then.

i refuse to touch the body of my car due to this. if you keep your upgrades subtle and something you cant hide in pictures, no one will know the difference

nah, i'll pass on the gross polluter license, etc.

I have a proposal. How about we can do whatever the hell we want with our cars as long as the emmisions coming out the pipe meet the emmission standards? You want to run a t67 and 35psi on a built KA? No problem, just make sure the exhaust is going through the necessary catalytic converters and EGR valve is working properly to be driven on the street. THAT would make more sense to me than not being able to do anything to your car other than a goofy CAI

That's wrong. There's a big misconception that 30+ year old cars are exempt. Its ONLY for cars that were made in 1975 and/or OLDER that are exempt from this law. Go read California's state laws and you'll see. The years continue.
yes sir...wtf did i read it wrong last time or what...that suck now that its for only 75 or older...

And btw the U.S. has the LOWEST gas tax than most countries in the world. So be thankful
You won't be saying that when gas prices go through the roof again

If anyone is interested in legislation or pressing for change then I suggest they check with SEMA as they are constantly battling these issues.

Emissions laws are broken because the people who write them have the technical competency of a dumb third grader.

Overlooking the fact that in places with high population and emission densities where these laws are usually applicable, the gas coming out of the tail pipes of most new cars is cleaner than the air going in, there's no way the emissions of a S15 is worse than the emissions of a vette, viper, ferrari, lamborghini, porsche or any other "super car."

If you have numbers that suggest otherwise, I'd like to see them.

I live in Oregon and if HB2186 passes (a bill to ban car modification). I'm going to buy a Prius, and put in something ridiculous like a 2JZ, slap on a coexist, obama, and anti-iraq war sticker, and cut off every subaru and prius on the road while bouncing off the rev limiter.

I'm guessing this post is riddled with run ons and other grammar errors as this was mostly a rant post.

as long as nascar is still in business, then there is no point for emissions smog or anything, 300 cars burning as much gas as they at the same time, hybrid cars arent doing jack sht for pollution

Do you realize how few of those old cars there are on the road? How little they get driven?

You should probably do some research before you go getting yourself laughed at.

There is a reason they dont require them to have emissions. I would cost far more to implement the the benefits would cover.
