Wow, I have been gone for a while and I miss so much. lol What started off with cars ended up with sticks. lol

Anyways, its always nice to be back to this forum. Always get that warm feeling from fellow Infiniti owners. I'm in Atlanta right for my sister's cancer treatment and on the way here, I noticed quite of few Infiniti rides which put a smile on face. :)

Anyways, since its winter time, I parked my J in the garage. I WAS driving the Camry until the trans. went out on it with ~169K miles. I found a used auto trans. from Japan with about 50K miles on it for $800 installed including warranty.

At any rate, I am always considering a replacement car for the Camry. I really want a G20 especially after an engine swap I saw done to it. I want a Q more than anything and drool over when I see it. However, my budget wont allow it. One day though, I want one especially the s/c '02-'03.

Well take care people,

Omar

First of all, I truly wish your the best for your sister and hope she has a speedy recovery.

Second, do give the G a shot. The older ones can be had for a very reasonable price and from my experiences and from feedback from other G owners, this is a very solid and reliable car. I don't know anything about performance modifications but for me it's sporty enough. Need I mention that its extremely fuel efficient?

Anyway best of luck to you and your family. :)

I wish premium prices would drop:(

I'll be damned if I'll be like my idiot brother and run 87 octane (he's got an NA '91 300ZX, it's an auto though so I never wanna drive it, wasn't much fun:()

I remember test driving an older G20, I liked it, it had decent room (a little more than my old 4 door Teg) and I liked the revvy nature of the SR, it was an auto though, so I didn't much feel like getting it:(

...and you can -never- drive my Q. EVER!

I think letting someone drive your Q is equal to letting a buddy grope your girlfriend. Its like a fine classy lady, not a cheap whore!

Okay. A decision has been made. By this fall I will be giving the 93 Mazda MPV (52k right now) to my brother.I will acquire a 94-95 Q45 with low miles and a good history (willing to pay a premium) and a 99 or 2000 Chrysler 300M.

And I'll be happy! I also want a Cadillac Seville, and a Miata. God, Im turning into Jay Leno (except I'm asian, and my jokes are better).

300M would be an unwise choice, grasshoppa - Do your homework.

I was minutes away from buying a 99 300M when I found Quella.

yeah, I was thinking "WTF?" with the 300 too, those suck, my uncle works at a Chrysler dealer and declares them crap.

I'd wait a little while for the new Hemi 300 if I were to get a 300...

you could always get an IS300, so so sweet...

or one of the fine Infiniti automobiles.

stupid money, why must you be so hard to get!

I looked into it, asked folks with experience owning Chrysler LH cars, checked reliability surveys... the 300M gets good marks and good reviews overall. Not stellar, but "pretty good".

Just for the sake of "newness" though and efficiency out of a smaller car I'm leaning a bit toward a G20 for quick trips and maybe a commuter, and a 94-95 Q45 as a keeper.

Jesda... not to pry too much, but why do you need two cars? I can't talk much since I have three, but I'm just curious...

I'd sure think of a J30 to sit beside your Q... that would be a great combination in anyone's garage!

Need?

Who said anything about need? I'm just a greedy little bugger. :)

I want a small luxury fleet.. to walk out to the driveway and have my choice of which hot item I wanna enjoy for the day. I love the J30 but the tail isn't tall enough. Maybe I'd change my mind if I saw the interior in person.

Greed is good :D

I was just curious... I'm not sure I wouldn't concentrate on one really stellar car instead of two, but that's just me. Between the Q and the 300M, you might be getting close to a new M or slightly used '02 Q45? Especially when you factor in the extra property taxes, insurance, etc. Just bouncing ideas off the wall.

I'd like to get a small sporty car for fun when I sell "Q1" - I know I'm now flame bait, but I wouldn't mind a Del Sol... always liked those for some reason. Maybe a Miata.

I'm probably too practical to keep a three car fleet though... Probably just the Q and truck and then try to get the girlfriend into a G35.

If you want it to have the body of the I30, you might as well buy a Maxima and put some Infiniti badges on it. Steroids...:)

I drove one once... and just sort of like the idea of a removeable top and a 5 speed. Like I said, it probably won't happen - and if it makes you feel better I wouldn't buy it in the lime green color! :D

It'll start out at $4000 (which is about KBB retail). With updated guides, and cosmetically and being mechanically in tip-top shape I think it's worth it.

I still need to steam clean the carpet, put on a fresh coat of wax, clean and treat the leather, touch up some of the trim, etc. One day's work between it and the market. That and maybe a little attachment and liking seeing dueling Q's in the garage.

You know Heath, and Wes... you guys make a good point.

Once you add up the interest, cost of maintenance, insurance, fuel, taxes, fees, etc... its not so appealing. On the plus side, the only expenses I have are car-related. School is covered. No rent. 100% of my income is for "whatever".

The wiser part of me wants to keep the 92 Q and throw a few grand more into it this year. Would be mint, and pure and original!

Spark plugs, rack bushings, chain guides, get the leather resurfaced, plenum job, get the dash restored to flat black (freaking bling bling wood). At least two grand there.

But... I could just sell my Q and buy a 94 and do basic R&R. In the end the money spent would be the same, but I'd have a newer Q with a better injector design (they were replaced on my 92 though), chrome grille, softer seats, nicer sound system, no chain guide issues...

DAMN IT! I'm lost and confused.

Only desludging the engine... Sorry, couldn't resist :D

Quote »Heath.... Why not drive your Q1 and keep the Q2 with low pristine miles. Weekend only..... [/quote]

Well - my weekends and weekdays are all about the same - work some, play some, all at the same time. A lot of the stuff on the Q gets old and brittle even if it's not driven, so I just want to enjoy it... I'm still tempted to keep Q1, but I'd like to have the room in the garage for the truck. The cost of the car isn't an issue, but forking over insurance, taxes, tags, etc. would be about $1000 a year for a car that looks and drives just like the one sitting beside it. I'd like to see her go to a good home (maybe a NICO member) who'll enjoy it.
