Injen, yeah... when I ordered AEM was on back order, so my local shop just got Injen... no power difference between the two, and Injen is a little less common, so I'm quite happy. All high polished and blingin...

best pic of the engine bay I have at the moment... I need to get a new one to show all of it... maybe I'll do that with the exhaust install and the bagillion pics/vids included in that bunch... I want to paint my vc black but polish the lettering... thoughts? How cheap is that high temp paint anyway?

Anyone have any idea how to get those links (for the vids) to work properly?edit: Mike says the links work for him... and he's not a member... weird... didn't work for another friend of mine...

Damn! I was just gonna say that you should paint or polish the VC to match the Injen. I wanna do that to the Max but I dont think it'll look too good. I will however polish the intake manifold once I get the new Max.

Nice, engine bay looks pretty clean! How many miles are on the car? I'll guess hmm... 42k.

The second link started to work/play for me, but said I needed some software update, so I gave up. Net/net the second one seemed to work, if not talk to Jesda, he may be able to host.

Yeah Mike, BRM goes in when I get it, despite the ticket. You better be ready...

42k is close, Rex, 43,980 at the moment. It had 37,217 when I got her a year ago, so not too much mileage :D.

Engine bay is almost spotless except for the heat shield over the exhaust manifold... it's cracking in a couple places, but they're surface cracks (almost look like deep scratches), so the heat isn't leaking out.

The only things that frustrate me about the car are the lack of a sunroof and the condition of the paint in some areas (mostly the hood/bumper)... many chips, the previous owner (was also a smoker... took forever to get the smell out) did a lot of highway and I curse him every day for it... luckily the chips aren't noticeable til you're pretty close.

I signed out and the second link works for me as well, but alas, it's not the fun one... gr...

Story of the day: people come flying down the street in front of my neighborhood all the time. I go to pull out and out of NOWHERE this huge SUV is bearing down on me, and cars are coming in the lane I just crossed too... it's the second or third time I've had to whip the car around and get back in the neighborhood or be destroyed... I hate that damn curve...

Later, I was pulling onto a nearby highway (still on my way to school), cars flying there too... I've recently (as in, during the previous incident) mastered the art of launching my car... the LSD makes her bog like crazy if you just flat out floor it, but a 2.5k -ish clutch dump gives a little wheelspin and you're off. I ended up using the wheelspin to turn the tires the full ~100 degrees of the turn without having to swing way out... all this because of nearly getting slammed pulling out of the neighborhood again, and screaming "****!" because I'm tired of the bogs...

Anyone want to give me boost?

Don't make too much fun of him, NTN & Wes are too of the most mature level headed high school kids I've ever encountered.

Thanks for the good word, Rex!

I believe JDM meant that in the way of "haha, school already started for you." I want to say he is 17 as well? But maybe that has changed since I last heard his age...

edit: As of the third day of school, things are finally looking up. Despite a couple of crappy teachers and a noticeable lack of friends in most classes. Well, not sure how to explain it, but a major part... Chuyong (Chu) Yi - coolest name ever? I think so. Coolest new chick ever? Ditto.

Haha. Nice! I was held back in pre-school by my parents so that I'd be the oldest in my class (summer bday), so that's why I'm 17 but only a junior.

School here used to start right after Labor Day too, but they're moving toward year-round school (it's taken a good 5ish years to get to this point). Luckily, I'll be out a few years before they complete that transition.

yeah, i really wish that my school would not be so screwed up, if you dont want to listen to my rants, stop reading here

1: they ripped up the parking lot so that only seniors (im a junior) could get parking spots

2: they are remodeling the caffeteria, so there is almost no were to eat, we have tables on the front entrance to the school!

3: they also ripped up the road going to auto class, what good is auto if you cant get a car into it

4: they decided to not have a homecoming dance, because there is no were to have it

5: juniors and seniors could not buy lockers untill today, that was stupid, had to carry around all the books

thats all, but it really was poorly planned

Yeah, that construction is retarded, all for a new gym, right? Just so this one has A/C. I see the point for an A/C equipped gym (spectator's comfort), but the timing is awful... I'm amazed it's taking so long too.

Back to the original thread topic: Greg, UPS has not picked up the SE-R exhaust, was I confused there or what?

talk about bad timing, get this: the kids before me got to drive, and the kids after me will get to, but i dont untill im a senior, they said, that they may have some spots when its finished (around january) but i dont know how accurate that is, construction always seems to take longer then projected

is UPS suppposed to pick it up at your house or are you taking it to them

That's what I'm wondering now. Somewhere my head heard "pick up," but my head's been known to hear things incorrectly from time to time...

Lol, I know where UPS is man. I've been in the PTC area for a good 14-15 years, so... this is the only place I remember living, actually.

I'm probably just dumb and heard him wrong, no biggie, I'm not paying to ship this sucker though, so I'm not sure how we're gonna work that....

240 kid:

1: My parking lot didnt get ripped up, but juniors lost their privelage after my freshman year. too many seniors. A lot of juniors still park on in the HS parking lot even though they dont have parking permits. All the other juniors that drive either pay other nearby businesses monthly to park or they get lucky and park at places that dont charge them.

2: Thats horrendous. Im glad we have 4 cafeterias, but technically its one big one with a divider down the middle on the new side, and two seperate ones(right next to each other) on the old side with the kitchen as a passageway between the two.

3: Thats just dumb.

4: Thats wack as hell. I believe I told Winston about the homecoming dances at my school. We sell out (2000 tickets at $11 every year). A damn good time. Lotsa single booty and booty grindin to go around. Plenty of freakyness and a couple lap dances that the teachers/APs never see. I would die without this event. As I understand all of that **** dont fly at Winstons school. Sucks.

5: YOU HAVE TO BUY LOCKERS??!!! Ive never even heard of that before. Sounds stupid if you ask me.

BTW my school never really remodels while school is in session. The last major thing they've done was add a new section that doubled the schools size a few years ago including the divided cafeteria I mentioned earlier and a new large gym which is actually 3 gyms when the dividers are pulled out. They had to in order to fit all ov the new students. This year we had about 900-920 freshman and about 3000-3500 total students. The parking lot is pretty big but needs to be bigger to fit the juniors, but they arent adding on even though my school alone has a 999,999,999.99 million dollar budget and plenty of extra space. But oh well. Our case isnt as bad as your school though.

Damn that was long. Gotta catch up on some emails.

Yeah, our homecoming is policed pretty strictly. They allow a little booty, but if you go low at all and they see you, it's over. Of course, it's a 99% white school, so most people can't dance, but those of us who can... well it's a bit of a frustration. Wow... I just realized that if I really wanted to, I could go to 4 different Homecomings in the area this year... with 4 different girls... 5 if I was feeling thiefish...

Anyways, I got home from school today and about 10 minutes later, Mr. UPS Dude rang the door bell while placing a 40lb package with my name on it next to the door.

Round 2:

Okay, so... the question that comes to mind here is: I remember seeing in the SCC article where they add a BRM to their SE-R that it has 2 joints after the cat, a flanged one and a sleeve. I know where the flanged one is, and I figure that's kept in the aftermarket exhaust for installation ease as well as keeping it simple when comparing stock and BRM...

Should the flange/clamp be at that end or the other end of the sleeve? I figure that end (not assembled yet, I just put it on for pic purposes) would be better because it would ensure a tight seal around the second pipe, making sure that exhaust will not flow between the pipes, which would... well... suck. And yes, the flange/clamp was made in Canada...

Back to the question: However, why the sleeve joint? I don't really think it will impede flow, but it IS more stuff to do. I see the ease of packaging here (it was one box instead of two), but... I dunno, it seems simpler to me to just have one continuous piece of steel... just a thought, not complaints. This one looks even better quality than the last one! Still has a 4in tip, but somehow this 4in looks smaller... but maybe that's in my head.

Anyways, Mr. UPS Dude did not pick up the old one (it was sitting on the inside next to the door because, obviously, you don't want to leave a $525+ piece of equipment out all day) Someone was home all day to make sure to give it to Mr. UPS Dude... so... (Greg informed me via email that they should indeed pick it up today).

This is kinda funny, seeing as I asked Greg in the email about pick up last night if he knew an arrival time, then POOF! It's here!

I also find it incredible that on Monday, the error was found, and now, Thursday, the right (I hope, lol, I'm pretty sure) unit is here... fast service? Hell yeah.

if you're really concerned about it, install it w/ the clamps, drive to muffler shop and say, "weld the sleeve joints ***** and i'll give you 2 cookies"

that's about it

FARK! We're gonna have a skeleton crew on this one, probably just me and Brian... I'll see if I can get Zach in on it though, one more set of hands would be nice for lining it up and junk...

We'll buzz by you and Atha (doing a damn band car wash... freakin'!) afterward. I can't wait... FINALLY get this done, been thinking seriously about it for a good 3+ months and working on it (with the paypal problems and all) for about a month... actually, back in March or so I almost joined a group by on SR20forums for a VRS piping kit... had it all figured out and stuff, and then $ concerns made me back down...

Anyways! Pics Saturday night, then vids sometime in the week.
