Car: Planning on buying a s13 Coupe

Post

Im gonna have to disagree with most people in here saying that the steelies look better than the rims he bought. I think that those rims look better than steelies. Now im not saying these rims are awesome or anything, but if the OP says that he needed a set of rims that day, and apparently he said his car wasnt so driveable, he did what he id. Sure they dont look that great, but IMO they look way better than the steelies he was rolling on.

Well OP hopefully u do as u want, dont be a follower and feel like you have to get some crazy offset, super wide rims. Just make your car the way u prefer it.Tho i do prefer rolled fenders and wide wheels, lol. that my opinion.

IMHO, I didn't fail. I made myself happy, and I win. The picture you posted is a good exaggeration of wheel gap & wheel sink. My setup does not look THAT bad.
Oh I just posted that pic to show what Shu's looked like. The wasn't even my car. I would post pics of my s13 with them on, but I'm at work and can't access photobucket.

Anyways, alot of ppl have strong opinions on what is Fail and what isn't. If you don't think you failed... Awesome. Just don't expect the majority to agree with that notion.

At first i was just being a dc saying the car would look better on Steelies. But now having seen the car on said steelies....Hell yes it would have looked better on the steelies.

Why did these new wheels of yours create wheel gap?

If you just washed and sprayed your steelies(for like 5 bucks) they would def look 1002x better than what you are sitting on now.

Yeah, but that wasn't really an option. I needed an alignment after smashing into a curb & replacing my LCA, sway bar, tension rod, and tie rod. You can't get a proper alignment with different wheel sizes. My toe was so bad that when I drove my car over to the alignment rack (from my lift) that it was making a screeching noise from the wheels fighting each other.
and again, mayb its just me but if i had smashed into a curb & had to replace all that. i prob would of bought fully adj. arms, and a stock steelie from the junkyard like simmode1 said. then got an alignment. after that i could save up and buy new wheels and get what i wanted the first time. i made a similar mistake when i bought a 3000gt cuz i couldnt find a good 240 at the time. i ended up hating that car & selling it for way less than what i bought it for. so with my 240, whenever i buy something i think of how i want my car to be in 2years (track slut). but dont take what these guys say to heart. sure everyone wants a super slammed car, but with the jacked up roads in the us it is just not feasible sometimes. your car doesnt look bad & you said that the roads where you live are trash & there is dips, so you have the perfect susp height for YOUR drive. who cares what everyone else thinks, your car is yours not any one elses. sure my car isnt super fast & the paint is faded as hell, its my car & i wanna have fun w/it. suspension was my main focus & now that its done ill move onto the motor, looks are the last thing on my mind. mikethebiker's sig says it all "a 240 is an old a** piece of s*** that will get 0 girls checkin you out" just roll w/it

looks good jerrid, dont let all the internet ***holes rain on your parade. looks better than steelies. it really sucks when you get something and everyone dogs on you. really great community. way to stick together guys.

not everyone has to run a 12" wide wheel and be slammed to the ground. i have some extra spacers laying around if you wanna get a little more flush. you got my number and know where i live, i wont hate on ya, lol.

everyone saying steelies look better, get a life. if you dont like them fine but seriously what good does it do to dog on a fellow 240 enthusiast. friggen nazi's. if every 240 looked the same then it would get boring.

yes, steelies look better. Here's why. The wheels you put on just don't go with the car. They may look fine on others and they aren't an ugly design, but they just don't match the car. It's like putting wide white wall tires on a brand new mustang or anything new really. Wrong genre.

If you consider his car super sexy then I would dread to see your car.

Also if your mentioning the saggy headlight, and actually talking about me, you can blame the bimbo who backed into my REAL silvia.

Another thing, watch the road and maybe you won't smash up your oilpan.

i never said op cars was super sexy, you should read better. your car looks good. i like the wheels. has a nice stance too. albeit has some crooked headlights obviously since you came in and threw yourself out there. my cars nothin special. never said it was. its a old a** nissan. for what i got into it its ok.

im just sayin why hate on jerrid? it just makes other cars look better. i could care less if yor silvia is real. my 240 is real, i can touch it, its all that matters.

keeping your eye on the road is all good and all but s*** happens, payin attention or not. i live out in the boonies. roads are terrible. i love sittin low and ill take the chances, not everyone will. your also 18 bro, you'll learn one day s*** happens. i did. and i stilll lay my cars low. to each their own. if everyone was the same and did the same thing itd get boring real quick.

why cant we just all get along?

For a second I thought it was a Jersey car...

The car looked like crap before and looks even worse now. Looks like you're trying too hard.

Yeah, you are a noob, you paid $900 for wheels you THOUGHT were 9 inches wide lmfao..

I already know that you're gonna fail in the future with your "NISMO" wheel setup. What are you gonna get, 17x7.5 +45 Nismo's from the Spec V?

I can't believe I'm dignifying this with a response. Learn how to read, incompetent fool. I hope your other 1300 posts are a little more intelligent.

I paid THREE HUNDRED AND NINETY DOLLARS for rims that I didn't give two s***s about in the width department. I don't give a rat's a** if they are 3 inches or 15 inches wide. They look better. As for my future wheel setup, I don't know if I'm going NISMO or not. TBH, I haven't really decided. I'm more concerned with building my motor ATM.

I've literally had my car for a little over a month now. Anybody who says it looks like s*** can go to hell. I haven't had the time to do anything else to it.

@yokota: I don't care how much you spent on your interior or your car. You are still an arrogant douche bag. You're giving the response I would expect if I was out drifting in traffic and killed a baby or something.

Thanks Jeff, for pointing out the douchery in this thread. I don't know how Nico keeps members with attitudes like this.

Because it's not us. It's you.

But that can be rectified by simply changing the mentality you use to select the parts you put on a car. When we see wheels like these, it sets off a red flag indicating a half baked, busted a$$ build will be under way soon. And followed shortly after that by a part out thread or the hacked up car being posted up for sale.

We've seen it too many times. Just put more thought into your purchases, unless you enjoy wasting money, that is...

You guys are just too quick to assume. Granted, my car isn't going to look like a drift car, or have an RB swap cranking out 1000hp. However, I'm not going to deck it out in a lame body kit, or put a 6 foot wing on it, or do a sorry a** rattle can paint job.

I am going to go KA-T, I am going to build the motor, and I am going going to as much of the work as I can by myself. When that motor blows, I'm going with a VQ35.

The fact of the matter is, you guys jumped down my throat & started throwing insults at me because I bought a set of wheels that I thought looked decent. There is no need for that. I am new to 240s, but I'm learning. I'm not a stupid person, and I know how to research (yes, including my rim sizes/offset/etc..). Don't treat me like one. I don't care for anybody's approval, however I do think it's a little messed up that people want to call me stupid/noob/dumbass/etc.. for getting something that I'm temporarily happy with.

Nothing I do is half baked, or busted (with the exception of this thread). lol

It just needs needs to die.
