For everyone that does not know her, out side of the Internet! Let me tell your alittle bit about her. She is working 8 hours a day 5 days a week in the 20s-30s F selling paper just to make a living and trying to put a turbo on her car. So give her a Break, Not everyone can dump $$$$ into their car all at once. (Money does not just fall off the tree or Sky) I know I can't! Everyone has to build a car piece by piece. Just Like someone add an Intake, then later on add an Exhaust! but she is just trying to built a turbo kit. So give her a Break! For people that think she is a ricer! If she really is a Ricer, then she would of have told everyone she has a Turbo even if she does not. And get a fake BOV Sound thing from EBay, to make everyone think she has a Turbo! I see her every weekend, I can tell everyone right now. She is 100000% not a ricer; she would make fun of a ricer in their face any day of the week around anyone! How I know, because I seen/hear it with my own Eyes and ears! Not everyone is a Ricer when they are trying to piece a mod together! And not Everyone has a mom and dad to pay for their car and mod! I know I don't. Because I work 48+ hours a week working on cars in 10s-100s F + go to College full time + pay the morage + power/water/gas for my house!

I hope everyone got my point! What I am trying to say is give her a break! She is building it.

Loveless, just wondering how fast is your car?

My car is maybe 200 whp, haven't really messed with it after the swap.

Where are you going with her life? Imagine being on your own since you are 17. Your first car is financed with your own credit/payment while paying for other expense such as food and rent. Having to pay 1500 to 2000 each semester out of your own pocket simply because you don’t qualify for financial aid; they want your parents’ information that you don’t have access to. Your relative don’t know you, last you seen your mother is 8 years and dad is 12 years.

But who cares? There are always going to be someone else worse off than you. The life I portrayed is mine and I know there are people who are worse off. Bring in personal life is irrelevant so to speak since modifying cars is a leisure; she is not obligated to do it. I should be shot if I was talking **** about her living status but that’s not the case.

Whether she mounts an intercooler or not, especially without a turbo, is none of my business. She did however request an opinion when she posted the thread. If negative comment is not permissible then perhaps we should be advised in advance, I noticed that I am not the only one feeling this way. If negative comments are allowed then this thread is almost screaming the following dialog:

“Oh look at my intercooler.”“Nice”“But I don’t have a turbo yet and I don’t know when I’ll get it, if I ever get it”“…”“What…?”“You ricer!!”

Alright guys, I've been following this thread for quite some time but without responding...

First I want to congradulate Brit for getting some things started with her project. And that I like your particular choice for an intercooler (it might not be the 'best,' but it's very nice).

Now in regards to everyone else:I am not trying to speak out against anyone. I think that Brit in ways was looking for opinions and everyone is entitled to their own opinions (that is what makes us unique). Loveless, I don't think that you were being overly harsh or anything, you've said your opinion, and nobody can change it nor should anyone try. I just think that we all should stop aguing against each others' opinions. Whether they might be 'right, wrong, or misleading.'

Everyone is free to express his/her opinions and that is where people can get some feedback. But to agrue with each other about who's opinion is correct I think (my opinion, so you don't have to listen) isn't the appropriate thing to do.

I hope that I haven't gone on too long or offended anyone involved.

I wish everyone luck on their endeavors no matter what they may be!

Brit, did you just get my name wrong or was I flat out not mentioned?

I take offense very easily.

well this is proably gonna be a big mistake but hear it goes like arrow i to have been following this thread and now i finally have somethin to say. when you say shes seeking an opinion of how her intercooler looked wouldnt one think to say hey it looks good or no dont like it etc.. hence giving an opinion. this discussion seemed to have gotten a lil intense when everyone discovered that she didnt have a turbo yet. but that wasnt the point of her posting this thread.

I'm not against what people are saying when they call people a ricer etc.. (im not a big fan of all show no go) but like people have been pointing out not everyone has tons o $$$$ at their disposal. Im one of those people and if i were in brit's situation ( that is her name?) i proably would have done the same thing. mount the intercooler and save me a step later down the road.

so there's my $.02

by the way brit like the intercooler you gotta post pics of everything when you get it complete. ( might aid in shuttin people up)

Can someone please elaborate on this "all show, no go" phrase? Is the 1.9 liter 138 hp 4-cylinder Bmw Z3 rice according to this statement?

no its not meant like that. Maybe its how i look at things but that is a phrase that is used commenly amongst me and my friends. what i basically meant by it is here you have a eclipse its got a full body kit wing rims. it looks all flashy and like it could be fast ( key word looks) but under the hood its completely stock 2l non turbo motor and to make things worse its automatic. now hear you have an identical eclipse same year model bodykit wing but under the hood its completely done up turbo port polished better injectors etc.. (im at work cant really think of perfect description) and its 5 speed. now the the first car i mentioned is a prime example of all show no go. the second car will most likely give you a run for your money.

and s13guy i dont quite qualify i car that is stock in the all show no go catrgory cuz its manufactured like that. basically its rice that makes a car all show no go.

did i make any sense?

In my opinion an SR swaper is more of a ricer than one who turbo's their engine. Yeah, that's my opinion and I'm sticking w/it.

First off, i don't know where you guys get off knocking on our own. Second of all a great girl like Brit who works very hard for her money. As a matter of fact, all of us who have done this to our cars have been in the same situation. And those that haven't can't talk cause you don't know what you are talking about. I for one do have the money to due these things to my S14.5 but i choose not to post until done. i guarantee my KA-T will be the cleanest and probably the most expensive on the east coast. DON'T be a bunch of F***s and rag on her. I haven't kept in touch cause we had a falling apart but she has come along very quick and i am anxious to see how quickly her project comes together.

P.S. if you said the same things to me about my car as you say about her/her car, and you were infront of me, i'd knock you're F*****g teeth out..........
