Why would I remove it when it took a good two evenings to mount it (building all the brackets)??? That would be retarded. It's there so that I have one less thing to worry about, just like once I get my gauges, I will mount them and the pod, and run all the wires, so they are there and ready to go. I'm sorry I'm not as rich as some people where I can buy everything at once and install it all the same time, so I am going step-by-step and doing what I can at the time.

Rosco is right, you shouldn't care about what people think...

Until you posted this thread, if you are not asking for opinion, I don't know what you are doing. So I am going to give it to you whether you take it or not. You have no problem taking positive comments so here is something pessimistic but quite honest.

You are rice, there is no other way to describe it. You bought something that doesn't work at its current state. It's like someone buying a SI or Type R badge, slap it on and proclaim that a motor swap is eventually to take place; “Eventually” is the emphasis here. Furthermore you bought and installed gauges and turbo timer. Again you bought something totally useless to you. It’s like installing your first addictive altezza lamps. They suck, they don’t do anything, I think most people of the board can agree on that. Whenever someone sees it and ask if a turbo is in place, you will say, “No, but I will get it installed;” Never happened.

I myself and others will think you are rice so long without that never installed turbo system. Not having money is not an excuse, maybe you should do it all together or not at all.

^^^^ thats where i disagree

thats your opinion that she is RICE b/c it doesnt work, i understand 100% where she is coming from b/c as she stated, im broke too, step-by-step if thats how it must be. Its better to have ti done and out of the way than be broke and end up in debt paying someoen else to do it for you b/c its too much of a hassle or waste time that isnt needed

although it isnt functional, it still serves a purpose in the long run

thats MY opinion but this thread is based on opinion so, o well

hmmm..looks good mounted. But my question is...why keep it mounted when debris and stuff can get to it? Might as well keep it safe until its ready to go

BTW...who cares about the "rice" factor? -.-

Hehe, of course it’s my opinions by the virtue of the fact that I typed/said it.

Ever seen those ridiculously large, wobbling body kits on **** boxes that are unpainted? It’s really no difference from what she’s doing. If you don’t have money, better stop before you **** something up. Money is hard to come by, I myself work part time while paying for school and all living expense. Not having money is not an excuse; perhaps the person who supposedly doesn’t have money should evaluate his/her spending behavior or not to do it at all.

Mounting an intercooler half assed? I bet you anything that IF she ever got to install the turbo, she needs to remove the front bumper in addition to the intercooler to customize the piping.

I don’t think she mount it to get it out of the way, I think she did it for looks.

Off topic: where can I find more pics of your car? I really like the half tone paint. How much did it cost?

Of course, because my next mods will include a double-deck aluminum wing, a dual-scoop hood, an automatic transmission swap, a FlowMasters muffler, a huge APC windshield banner, and some underlighting that changes color with the beat of the music...

I could care less what you think b/c my car will be faster than yours anyways.

I F-IN MOUNTED IT B/C IT WAS SITTING IN MY FRIEND'S GARAGE, WE WERE BORED AND HAD NOTHING TO DO, AND WE THOUGHT, ****, LET'S MOUNT THE BIATCH AND GET IT DONE WITH. BY THE WAY, THE PIPES ARE ALREADY FITTED. IT'S DEFINITELY NOT MOUNTED HALF-ASSED EITHER.

Alright people... back off...

SHe will be adding the turbo at a later time. It is her car, she can add things to it as she sees it fit.

Leave her alone... you already made your point and so did I, now leave the thread... there is no reason why you have to keep reiterating the same point over and over.

CAP Lock is like handicap for idiots, you are not yelling at anyone... and such big words for a ricer

Tell you what, prove to us that your car is faster than mine and I will paypal 50$ to you as an apology in addition to a donation of 50$ to this community. In the event that you reject my apology I'll donate the rest of the 50$ to this community.

That's if you can prove your car is faster than mine. Show me your dyno and I will show you mine. No whining about "different dyno yield different number..." or "dyno doesn't show how fast you are..." bull****.

You have one year to prove me wrong, that you are not a ricer, for interest of donation to this community.

its justa****ingintercooler.

who the **** cares. get over it. why is everyone making this a huge deal?

and one more thing. i think that if you say you arent going to do a sr swap because its too popular is just as bad as buying into the hype. you are letting other people's actions/opinions change yours, just like the kid who has his parents buy him an sr because he saw it in a magazine.

haha, she said it. My car *WILL* be faster than yours anyway. But in its current state, it's just stock. I think you lost this argument. It's rice.

brit, I will apologize for my overstated words but you posted the thread asking for opinoin and you got it.

People are right about not letting others change your mind though but I wish someone would have swayed me to get a rb26dett instead.

Well, either way, I will be expecting your car to be faster than mine.

It's NOT rice. Recheck the general definition of rice. she and her friend were bored, obviously knew what they were doing, and mounted everything properly. so what if she doesnt have the slug yet? let's say you guys had an ic in your garage. it was there already, but you don't have money to buy the turbo.

basically what you're saying is that everyone should buy the turbo first if they're going to build a turbo kit. Otherwise it's rice. no matter what order it's in. and the turbo must also be mounted first. that way, if the ic she had in her garage didn't fit, she would have had to waste time when she could have put it in a long time ago.

eeeeeeeeeeeh pfffffffffffft 4get it. some ppl just to hard headed to see tha foresight others have.

I mounted mine the weekend before I started the KA-T project. It stayed parked in the garage because I had to trim a few things to get it to fit. I was also worried about bent fins and rocks in the intercooler. I also though I couldn't misrepresent too. It looks good though.

Y'know, I'm not worried about what ya'll think anyways. Having the IC mounted knocks out one thing I have to do, and I know it's there and ready to go. My manifold should be finished soon, and I'm about to give my friend the money for the turbo. I got injectors, and still got a few things left to purchase, mostly electronics. I'm bustin my a$$ to sell some newspapers, and it's not exactly the easiest job, but it's close. So let's let my thread die now.

Eh, it's not really rice. I mean...lots of people dry fit their intercooler to know what kind of pipes they need to run, and what not. Especially if she's getting a custom manifold, it would be good to know the where abouts on where she wanted the turbo to sit compared to where the pipes go.

Now, having a turbo timer--that's just rice. :P

Best of luck on getting your car boosted though. I hope to see it kicking my 240's ***

Brit I got your back on this one!

For everyone that does not know her, out side of the Internet! Let me tell your alittle bit about her. She is working 8 hours a day 5 days a week in the 20s-30s F selling paper just to make a living and trying to put a turbo on her car. So give her a Break, Not everyone can dump $$$$ into their car all at once. (Money does not just fall off the tree or Sky) I know I can't! Everyone has to build a car piece by piece. Just Like someone add an Intake, then later on add an Exhaust! but she is just trying to built a turbo kit. So give her a Break! For people that think she is a ricer! If she really is a Ricer, then she would of have told everyone she has a Turbo even if she does not. And get a fake BOV Sound thing from EBay, to make everyone think she has a Turbo! I see her every weekend, I can tell everyone right now. She is 100000% not a ricer; she would make fun of a ricer in their face any day of the week around anyone! How I know, because I seen/hear it with my own Eyes and ears! Not everyone is a Ricer when they are trying to piece a mod together! And not Everyone has a mom and dad to pay for their car and mod! I know I don't. Because I work 48+ hours a week working on cars in 10s-100s F + go to College full time + pay the morage + power/water/gas for my house!

I hope everyone got my point! What I am trying to say is give her a break! She is building it.

Loveless, just wondering how fast is your car?

Brit,

Nice to see you make progress on your car, though it is kind of odd to see an intercooler in a car w/no turbocharger. Though, it's not at all different than pre-installing a boost gauge or a upgrading the fuel pump before the turbocharger comes along.
