Negativity is easier to spread than something that's positive. You may have got me there about the name calling issue; I'm not going to search the Versa forums, not worth my time and it's not critical.

Regardless, people crave to modify their vehicle because it is in their best interest to reflect who they are and what they want out of a car. I modify my car to my liking WITHOUT voiding the warranty. I want to keep the car under warranty until it expires because it if expires, it costs more to fix the car if something terrible happens. Until then, I will modify it to my liking.

I'm going to modify my car because I don't know whether or not I want to purchase a new car, trade it in, or sell it. It's too early to decide and I want to enjoy my car before I make drastic decisions.

Most of us are grown ups, there are some who need to mature somewhat, but I think this is an on going cycle that won't stop.
And I will never say you can't modify your Versa. I may say I don't think the V needs to be modified, but I'm not saying you can't or shouldn't. I'm merely saying, when I post that I don't like a mod, I'm doing just that. I'm not saying you can't or that the mods you do are stupid, I'm saying I don't like it or I wouldn't do that to my V. I just prefer to keep a vehicle that is a bargain econobox just that. I'm not saying you shouldn't modify it or that you need to keep it stock, I don't think some people get that.

Like I said, I don't try to be negative. The only time that ever occurs are when people come out and tell me to shut the hell up or tell me I can't express my views/opinion. Usually thats the start of the negativity. Like I said, It's usually a case of me saying I don't like a certain mod, without attacking the person, and then some people get offended that I wasn't helpful or more "positive", that's all.

Umm. OK NOT A BIG FAN OF THE PICTURE! Since I am helping out with the Minnesota state wide special olympics this saturday at my school.

Anyways not to get to involved but I keep getting emails every time people post something insulting one another.

I do agree arguing on the internet is pretty well stupid because for one thing you seem to be arguing about the other persons personality. frankly I guess you could use the old saying if you don't have anything good to say about someone then don't say anything at all.

I mean my goodness this website is not like a best friend finder/matcher it's not asking you to like the other person or even to talk to them, this is a site dedicated to the Nissan Versa not so much how you feel about another person. In my opinion if you don't like the way some one responds to a post then skip over it don't cause conflict on a forum.

Thanks like I said I don't want to get involved I just really don't want to have this site turn into a big insult fest to one another.

I have to side with Red Devil on this one. If you post pics of a heavily modded car with spiders on it you have to expect some negative reactions along with the positive ones. If you can't handle opinions you don't like then don't post in a forum. If you read my posts you will see that they are often negative. I enjoy taking a dissenting opinion. It makes for more interesting conversation than simply slapping each others backs and saying way to go all the time. I also realize that lots of people will post with a different opinion than mine. It comes with the territory. If you can't take the heat then get out of the internet.

There are 2 2008 Nissan Versa's on the local Honda lot, lease returns with about 12,000 miles on them..."S" trim a/t's at $14,500 CDN.

I was in there test driving a Honda Civic Hybrid for my daughter.

OMG! what a POS!

My wife and I drove home in our Versa never so glad to be back in our own car.

I can't believe Honda can sell so many of these noisy, little gutless duds!

It was noisy? I always thought Hybrids are suppose to have an all quiet engine and have a dampened interior.

The Civic powertrain uses a CVT, a small 1.3 ltr gas engine, a 10 hp electric motor and about 200 lbs of batteries to get it's a** down the road.

The Honda suspensions have always been tightly tuned for more 'performance' than comfort. A nod to the car testers who like to drive the loaners like they just stold them. As a result the suspension noises adds to the din of the drivetrain. On top off all the drivetrain racket, there is a strange, annoying ambient noise (or possibly it was a vibration) in the cabin underlying all the rest, that defies identification.

So add that all up and you have a buzzy little engine trying to move a reluctantly heavy little car.

At interesections when it's time to go, it first tries to budge with the battery and then a second later when that's not working out, the little gas engine kicks in, then the whole thing has to wait for the CVT process to suck itself together and try and avoid getting run over by the guy behind you who just goosed the gas when the light turned green and expected you to do the same.

Civic Hybrid owners get used to all this I supose and take comfort in the fact that their mpg's are bigger than ours.

Well, in our 53 mile test drive ordeal, the trip total was 8.6 ltrs per 100 km...or 27 mpg U.S.

To put it nicely, that is one homely car. Obviously the mods weren't expensive.
