This thread is the thread for the greatest foods that we have or will make or ordert. The reason for this soon to be Godly thread is because we all do great things with food but eventually the glory dies, so if a thread that is constantly updated will live forever and the coming generations can enjoy our creations.

Requirements.

A pic. Ingredients.Ways to cook.

1/2 pound Bacon avocado pastrami cheese burger. 1pound of cheese fries, washed down with Nestle raspberry ice tea. if you get an egg on the burger it brings it to new heights.

I make some really good potato hash. I even gave it a name... "Joe's toes" Joe's as in me, and toes as in potatoes. Yeah I know its stupid. Its an inside joke.

Ill take pics next time I make em. They consist of mandolin sliced potatoes, hot sauce, cheese, barbecue sauce, onions, and garlic. Some other stuff... its different every time I make it.

Random potato meals have saved me from hunger on many occasions.

sounds like the stuffed peppers we make in my house. the recipe varies, depending on what ingredients we have on hand, but they always turn out yummy.

Here comes the bacon!i have no name for this creation of mine and this is from a while back i got it ready to post but i was too lazy.

Here is a very easy and cheap way to make a $70 plate for only 6 bucks a person tops not counting the good tequila.

1. buy the following ingredients.

2.get the bacon in the pan!!!!

3.cook it till its juicy and flexible than cut it.

4.Cut up alot of garlic.

5. Fry it in the bacon grease alongside some peppers.

6. Wash the basil and shrimp with cold water and do as followed.

7. Wrap it up and wrap the bacon on top!

8. Tadaaaaaa

9. Cook them till they the bacon is crispy.

10. Take the beaten steak and plant a piece of butter under each one for great cooking flavor and pop some lemon pepper on top.

11. Cut up mushrooms and cook them in the bacon oil!!!

12. After the meat is cooked to your preferred doneness grab it and put it in the plate. After things are done grab the salad that your female friend has brought and throw a slab of it in the plate.

13. Get the nice tequila out the freezer as the preferred beverage to get the lady friend drunk after you eat the masterpiece you made. Oh and don't forget to put some of the cocktail sauce in the plate.

I'm telling you folks! Get the mods to make a sticky full of recipes in the "Around the House" forum. I GUARANTEE you, there will be more traffic in there.

Unfortunately, there will also be more domestic violence reports. Go figure.

I'll take a shot at this.

None of these are my pics, but I've had all this stuff.

1.) Columbian Food

A columbian mixed-plate usually comes with some of the following:-Beans-Avocado Slices-Carne Asada-Chicharron (deep-fried pork fat)-Cheese Arepas-Rice-Fried Eggs-Sausage-Maduros (plantains)

This is, suffice it to say, the GREATEST COMBINATION IN THE WORLD. When you're really obnoxiously hungry, absolutely nothing beats a huge Columbian mixed-plate.

2.) Hawaiian Plate Lunch

Ironically called the "plate lunch" as it is almost always served in the ubiquitous Styrofoam carton.

It can consist of many things, from hawaiian food (lomi salmon, kahlua pig, poi), to Korean stuff (fish jun, kalbi, kimchi), to wacky combinations of things (curry loco moco).

It is usually served with "two scoops rice, one scoop mac salad"

This is "loco moco", which is a hamburger patty (seared outside, medium inside is the best), on top of rice, with gravy (I prefer substituting curry for gravy), and a runny fried egg on top. I also like some shoyu-fried spam on mine. This is SO GOOD. I make it at home on the regular, although I nabbed this pic from Flickr:

(this particular pic has the ubiquitous mac salad and also what looks like some lo mein noodles):

3.) Peruvian Chicken

This is pretty simple. Spice-rubbed chicken cooked on a rotisserie over open fire by people who do nothing but cook chicken this way all day, every day, for years.

There is no finer way to cook chicken, I promise (Jamaican Jerk is very close IMO, I think they're about equal and very similar). In DC, our favorite spot is a local two-restaurant chain called "El Pollo Rico". There are many others, most of which are good, but Pollo Rico is the best.

This is what you get. 1/4, 1/2, or whole chicken with awesome fries, cole slaw, and two dipping sauces (one spicy, one more like a mild mayo):
