That always made me LOL.

What is that supposed to BE anyway? "Made with real Orientals!"

Anyway, if someone wants instant noodles, they need to be buying these:

Udon that you store in the fridge. It keeps FOREVER and is delicious. I always get bonito flavor and add a little extra bonito powder, then some nori, and whatever meat/veggies I have lying around.

I make big pieces of char-siu and keep them in the freezer in slices, so when I want some for noodles or whatever, I can just thaw and reheat 3-4 slices at a time. Fishcakes work the same way, buy, slice, freeze.

HKC, you must love to cook, I can tell by the way your plates are setup and how they are served....Is this your line of work ??

pho bo (beef)

and

pho ga (chicken)

the pho ga is chicken the pho bo is beef.

It's a vietnamese food, it's delicious and served with bean sprouts, jalapenos, lime, also hoisin sauce.

Taste is real fresh and appetizing. I could live off this stuff

More awesome stuff I like to eat:

Bamh Mi. Steamed pork, pate, picked veggies, etc. This is the KING OF ALL SANDWICHES.

Grilled Sardines. Very little is better than a nice fat fresh sardine, whole (cleaned and scaled, of course), cooked over an open fire. The meat is very fatty and the skin crisps up deliciously. Just a little shoyu is all you need, or olive oil and salt.

Honestly, a top "last meal" candidate for me would be grilled sardines, spinach catalan, and some nice flatbread. Simple is best.

Chinese Roast Pork (i.e. Siew Yoke - my pinyin is probably off):

Anyone know how to make this? HKC or anyone else? I've never tried but I'd love to take a shot at it.

Softshell Crab Sandwich.

This one is in my blood as a Maryland kid. STEER CLEAR of heavily-breaded softshells, they're covering up subpar product. A perfect fried softshell should look like the picture below.

The sandwich should ideally be soft thick texas toast with red onion and a little remoulade. A little cole slaw can work too, but preferably a really acidic vinegar-based one with NO mayo (I have my own personal recipe).

LESS IS MORE, the focus is on the crab here.

Simple Fried Whole Fish.

You can vary the fish species some, and almost all seafood-eating cultures have a variation on this, but the basics are the same. Fish + Hot Oil. No breading, no cutting up, nothing. The head is the best part (specifically just behind the jawbone).

Pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe (i.e. rapini, broccolini, etc).

This is the greatest pasta dish in the world....period. The fattiness of the sausage, the faint sweetness of the fennel therein, the bitterness of the broccolini, and the starchiness of the pasta. I could eat this until I explode and I make it often at home. Don't add ANYTHING ELSE, except maybe some shredded cheese (ideally Pecorino, IMO):

There's a local place that offers those with chicken or vietnamese pork for $3. I always go in and order three or four of them and give them to friends, or save for later. SO much value for money its insane.

Easter dinner special. Hambaconraspberry ice teahoneysweetened condensed milkpineapple

The ending result was a ham that melted in your mouth but which was not too sweet just perfect. My family made a toast to my good cooking! I love it.

I'll post pictures this evening...

I'm marinading country style beef ribs as I type. In a couple hours I'll throw the on the grill and then the magic happens.

I'll try to remember the pics. I will not not on the other hand share the marinade recipe...
