The only reason I can think of why you like console better is the max scroll speeds on console. With a pc, the reaction time is limited by the user and not the hardware; however, with a console it is vice a versa or at best both equal.

This leads me to only one conclusion, you have horrendous reaction times and on a pc, you can't keep up with the other players who end up blasting you left and right.

Still fine though. At least you are good in the environment you play in. But just for the records, games on pc will always be superior to those on the console. There is a reason a console is $400 and a vid card $400 as you pointed out. PC graphics > console graphics.

PS. Dell computers (any model) are not considered gaming rigs. Build your own computer and you will see the difference.

lol@Dell for gaming. I got mine for cheap from cyberpower... of course in saving so much money I ended up with a half-*** product.

What I mean is, I got an excellent deal on the key core pieces... CPU, RAM, HD, video card, etc. But they screwed up installing my memory card reader and my frontside USB ports, and set my hard drive to H:. in fact, one of my frontside USB ports is cracked. lol.

but I still argue that I got a hell of a deal. with the Radeon X1900 with 512mb VRAM, gaming has never been so slick on the PC.

I hate playing FPS on consoles. I always get raped in multiplayer.

Likewise, if I jump to the WASD setup on the PC, I do pretty well. IMO, it's easier to line up the mouse pointer to a target than it is to adjust the analog sticks to line up.

The FPS that I play on PC would be completely unworkable on a console anyway.

I play mainly UT2K4 Zark/Binslayer Giant Maps, with super jump, highly accelerated gamespeed and wacko (10+) mouse sensitivity. Stuff like that would just be totally unplayable on an X360, no one would ever be able to hit anything.

And really saying that computers are more expensive then console's isn't really true anymore. PS3 There are new and better graphics cards and processors coming out every day but that doesn't mean the one you have is out dated. You can buy a 9800xt and play everything on high with only a gig of ram. Most of the new products that are out are so advanced that you wont really need them for a while because there are no games out that are that advanced.

I also hate waiting for the games to load on consoles. It's not much longer, but it's long enough to notice and it drives me nuts for some reason lol.

Also, I heard that on Windows Vista, Xbox360 will be able to connect to computers for gameplay.

ANYWAYS It would be totally unfair if they put consoles and PC in the same playing field (i.e. windows vista games being playable on Xbox Live). That will completely ruin everything and I hope they dont do that. Well I never said PC graphics are bad or even on the same level as console. They are far superior but I did say that they are harder to maintain. I prefer console for the same reason that someone with a Porsche Carerra GT or an Enzo Ferrari doesnt daily drive the vehicle. Its costly to maintain.

They mod the actual code of the game, save it to their console's hard drive, then make sure to host the online game. Certain aspects of the game's engine all run off of a single Xbox (the host), so the host has a huge advantage.

I've seen flying warthogs, super-speed, infinite ammo, super jumping, always invisible, non-stop overshield, etc.

No Xbox Live has a method of banning any software or hardware hacks by running system tests before you logon. The most common method of cheating is network manipulation. I.E. in Halo 2 you can run your internet connection from your xbox, through the computer, into your router. There is a program called Commview that allows you to view the IP addresses connecting to your xbox. Because You can be forced host you can block specific IP addresses from coming into your computer with any antivirus or internet security suite but the most commonly used is Zone Alarm Pro because its easy to use and because your xbox's connection runs through your computer, their connection is blocked from connecting to the xbox (yours) that is hosting the game and the other console's Xbox Live connections. Thus as a way of preserving the Lag free gameplay, Xbox Live "boots" the players who cannot connect from the game. Most people use this to "standby" (temporarily lag players at an advantageous time I.E. when they are about to steal your flag or you are about to steal theirs) or just boot 3 of the 4 players on your team making you roll solo against 4 decent ( almost no cheaters are very good ) players. In my prime I could hold my own but most of the time unless you have a huge lead or are immensely good you will lose.

If you average IGN and Gamespot's score's Gears of War still scores higher but that's why I said its scores dont mean its better but it does mean it deserves more respect in this topic. Period.

In case you didnt notice Gears of War is a third person shooter not first person. Which means 1. its not and updated Halo because the mechanics of the game are nowhere near the same by default because of the camera change. 2. Halo has auto aim and a homing feature for melee attacks. 3. Gears of War has no Jump button 4. There are no game changing weapons in Gears of War forcing you to out strategize the enemy 5. You have to stand still to throw grenades in Gears (which if you know anything about Halo is a HUGE difference) 6. There are no respawns in Gears, when you die you die 7. You haven't played and or heard enough about either Halo or Gears of War to discuss either of them. Once again my stats prove that Halo is a game I knew every detail about. I suck at Gears... But if you still won't believe me you'll see my point when you play Gears of War that its nowhere near Halo. Try playing Gears like Halo and you are gonna get ****ted on. Plain and simple. But you'll have to play it to understand. As regards Sony, fine they make good products now let it go, I just don't like them and none of their products have impressed me enough to say otherwise (except Guitar Hero but that's coming to the 360 soon ).

I still don't own an X360, and I won't buy one until Halo 3 comes out, but I'll almost certainly buy GoW then too.

Honda is a brand, Corvette is one specific car. A better example would be: A 1994 Honda civic is out selling 2006 Corvettes in the year 2006.

It's not perfect though. From what I can tell, it appears to only check certain aspects of hardware and only during updates. They may have someway of looking at software when reports of cheating come in on a user, but they may actually just look at gameplay statistics. Who knows. I just got modded by a group twice in a row last night. I ended up the last man standing on my team both times and simply walked away while they continue killing me before I can even spawn. Let the game end, report them as cheaters and move on.

I don't see as much bridging as I used to, but it still appears to be an issue. I recall a game a couple months ago where my team got bridged. It was pretty clear. They pulled a lead on BT Slayer of 25 when they stopped lagging my team. We came back and tied at 45-45 when they lagged us again to get the last 5 kills.

Yeah C-Kwik and certain mod chips can be turned on and off before and after loading the game. Also the hardware checks are often run at the beginning and during ranked matches. The way they get around this is disc stopping (ejecting the disc after the level is loaded into the RAM) because the hardware/software check requires the disc. Cheaters are definitely not stupid. Just lazy
