I think I figured out why it's overheating... Was running on one fan. Time to ebay me up some new ones, that leaves me with one extra running fan I can probably put on the condenser. What do you think Tom?

Fans didn't fix my problem and I'm tired of dropping money into it. Time to sell this piece of s***. :)

I found a momma cat and 4 kittens last night on the side of the road. They were abondoned right next to an animal shelter which was already closed. The people even left a collar on the momma cat. It didn't have a name or phone number. Right now they are at my house. Theyre eating and drinking just fine (momma cat was starving). I estimate that the kittens are around 6 weeks old. They are super tiny and cute. I'm going to be contacting rescue places today to see if anyone will take them.

Sorry to hear that man. I'm doing like you and just hoping that the fans are going to fix the problem. I think every 240 owner gets to a point where putting more money into it makes you sick... then something breaks... at lest that is where I keep getting.

Don't get me wrong I love my car and I'm not giving up yet. If need be I'll try to put another KA in it, but hopefully my case will be different than yours and with three fans I should be able to handle the hottest of days.

What would you get if you do sell it? Another nissan or something else? There are a lot of good choices out there if you look hard enough. Good luck.

I don't know what you've all tried, but have ya tried running different coolant, rad cap, thermostat, or new water pump??

I don't understand why the KA's are over heating and my RB is staying at normal temps in this retarted florida heat..... I only have 2 push fans on my condensor and run straight distilled water as coolant. nothing else...

Kelsey.. Those kittens are cute. You should sell them to a chinese food place. I hear they pay big bucks for tender cat. :)

^^yeeaaaaaaaaa no.

I've called 4 rescue organizations and they all said they were full.. Looks like I now have 5 cats... 6 if you include my parent's 17 year old cat..

Sooo looks like I'll be taking care of/house training my puppy, giving my old cat IV treatment, fostering 4 kittens and a mama, as well as taking car of one of my horses' cut leg and cracked hoof... all while my parents are in Belgium and I'm completely alone.... greatttt.. They are cute though.

If anyone knows anyone who would like a kitten, or the mama cat let me know. They are too young to leave the mom yet, but I want to start finding good homes for them asap.

I've flushed the coolant, new radiator, rad cap, thermostat, fans. I'm out of ideas.

If I were to sell it I would get something stock and not touch it.

^But wheres the fun in that? If the overheating issue is a/c related, the problem is probably with your a/c.

If it is a/c related, I might know what it is.

StoryTime: I bought my car off some dude who built 240s with his wife but had to sell his b/c he was expecting a baby. He was pretty cool and I still talk to him whenever I need some help with my car. Anyways, when he was doing a walk through of the car with me he says, "the a/c works, but the engine starts to over heat if it's on too long. If you really care about it, this part needs to be replaced. It's like a $20 fix."

I wish I had a picture of it to show you but it looks like a little amp with a little cord and a thermometer looking thing connected to it. it has some numbers on it:

27675 71L01

and

49705 9F19c

I haven't really looked into it, b/c I don't care, but maybe you do.

Yea I just thought about your issue and it pretty much has to be a/c related, because thats the only time your car is overheating. Something about the system isnt working properly, and it probably isnt your fans/radiator or anything because youve replaced everything. I dont really know much about a/c systems or I would try to help.

I dont see how anything could be messed up though. It doesn't make any sense. It's probably something really stupid too.

It says it's by the condenser. The description sounds right, but the picture looks off.

I personally have only overheated that once so far. I'm pretty sure it was because I only had that one fan running. Just not enough. I have two new 12" fans ordered so I figure I can replace the ones on there with the new ones and use the one good one as a pusher in the center of the condenser.

I figure that should be more than enough.

I have no idea what i am looking for in that picture. lol

I shouldn't have to use the clutch fan, Everyone else runs their ac without it.

A friend told me to pull the water pump and see if the blades on it are eaten up. I'm gonna try that before pulling the head off of it.

I'm sure everyone already knows that I didn't post that. I think Michael is just trying to display his true feelings without anyone realizing

So if my water pump is good, the only other thing it could be is a head gasket correct?

Do you have any oil in your coolant or coolant in your oil? Has this question already been asked?
