I kicked around the LS idea when one of my boy's dad Q died. We did some early measurements and thought it would go. Length wise the 2jz is longer than the LS, so the idea may be back on!
I'm tellin' ya, no Bowties! The blown Ford would be BOSS! Plus, you get all the oohs & aahs when you pop the hood and that Eaton Roots-type blower is sittin' on top of the motor...

Mmmmmmm... Blooooooowwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr... Agahaghagahagagh..... (Think Homer Simpson)

If we are talking about the Ford(cobra engine) with the blower, they are way too wide. I have looked at those and the length is good, but the width is a no go. Those suckers are wide. A 302 compact enough but lenght and width, but has half the performance of the LS engines. As much as I hate to admit it, chevy did the LS engines right. There arent to many engines that you go to a junk yard, pull out of a truck and get great performance/gas mileage without a turbo or supercharger.

The LS engines are versatile, mostly everything is interchangeable with other models, and there is so many aftermarket support . You can actually build one on a budget by piecing parts together. And the amount of horsepower you can acheive with no blower or turbo is crazy. They make big numbers like up to 1000 hp. Go ahead and google it. I mean come on, WTF. That's just crazy. I got nothing against a blower, but an all motor that makes more power without one is much more appealing and something to brag about. So yea... GM over Ford.

LSX... FTMFW...

Anyway...

Boring update: I got the drvieshaft back 2 weeks ago and it wouldn't work. So it had to go back to the shop to get modified to work properly. Since I'm using the Aristo auto trans it complicates thangs a bit..

Air suspension should be getting installed this weekend too!!

Haha... funny you say that..

No more clean engine bay :(

After driving it around for a few days, we discovered the engine had way too much oil PSI, a very common problem with 2JZ's. This caused a huge oil leak, and managed to spray oil all over the bay. The Front Main Seal or the Oil pressure relief spring oring is the culprit. So, we'll have to replace these items before heading to the dyno. I'm sure Kevin will thank us!!

Also, started on the air suspension this afternoon... Got the false floor mocked up, and decided on locations of everything. I'll post up some pics later. Finally getting started on the "important" stuff.. haha

Air is on! This is full down, on 17's mind you. Full up is about 1" wheel gap all around. Yes, I know the car is filthy!

I love the car, but I'm pretty unhappy with it as it sits.. It's far from finished!!

Although it did win "Best of Show" at Springfest this past weekend.. haha Undeserving imo, but still cool.

Seriously?

Theres a way bigger aftermarket for 2JZ than the VH. The VH is a good engine, but the 2JZ is a legend.

I like the car, its different, its bada**, and its his money.

This isn't at all "out side of the box" but it is sick non the less. A Mercedes V12 would have been outside the box, everyone swaps 2jz's into car just like LSX. They are both a couple of hp monsters that are easily obtainable.

I cant wait to see this thing done, so far it looks good. Wheel choice and fitment currently saddens me but im sure once you get the fender work done and everything on point it will be insane.
