This is the best write up I have found:
top-glove-box-repair-removal-t324205.html
It is by far the most detailed and in-depth. There is another solution that has worked for me, that I felt like sharing below.
Go to ACE or comparable shop and get the best glue they recommend to glue vinyl/ rubber to plastic. Get a 5 gallon paint can stirrer stick. The stick is the perfect width to shove into the space to hold the lid down while the glue dries.
Work in a well-lit area.
I peeled the lid back all the way accross the top of the upper glove box lid as it was peeling more that half way over from right to left already.
Apply the glue per product instructions. I kept the two surfaces separte for two minutes to allow the glue to set up.
Smooth lid back down into place and slide paint stick into the slot just about the closed lid of the upper glove box.
Intstead of C clamps (I could not get them to hold) I used a long length of concrete that I stacked on top of the stick. I placed some paper towels under the concrete to prevent marks and rubbing. I am sure several bricks would work here too.
Essentially, its the same thing as the write up above without removing all the parts.
I let the glue dry for approx 60-65 hours over this past weekend. not sure if that is overkill or not, but I was able to double up in my wife's car for the weekend.
So far so good!
