FYI the base model M does NOT come with a Bose audio system. It is some generic brand speakers and amp. Only the tech and advanced tech come with a Bose system, and the Advanced tech comes with 6 additional speakers over the normal tech package.

Ok ok guys... You have prooved me wrong. I did have the adv tech package on my'07M35 I made sure of that when it came in...it was one of my requirements when getting an M for the first time. 14 speaker system w/dvd in the console was great, I didnt really research the base M's as far as stereo packages go.... I do beleive what I said.... Nooooo bose that blows!! This is supposed to be the flagship sedan for infiniti...

if i've got this right, for 2006-2010 models...
so base M = generic stereo and 8? speakers
M with tech = Bose + 8 speakers
M with advanced tech = 5.1 Bose with 14 speakers

I've driven M's and agree the M has more L-R passenger space than the G. To some people that would be good, to myself I felt like I was back in school driving my '76 cutlass 4-door with a bench seat when I was doing a test drive review of the 2011 M37. I missed the "comfy to me" confines of my G. Granted, it was a M37x and didn't have sport seats so it's possible I would be more comfortable in that model. Regardless, if I were to seek a different model Infiniti it would be an M.

Yes Craig, as this ^ implies... read the regular tech package: Upgraded 8 Bose Speakers and then the advance tech: 14 (5.1) Bose speakers, case closed finally. I still wonder what's going through bodyguard's head, lol.

Blanco, you were absolutely right.

Getting an 2006 M45 for way cheaper and going from there was the right call.

I've been able to part my G35 and have found several 2006 M45's. What do you guys think about this one, I've seen it already and it looks really clean in person:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?c ... dard=false

I really want a sports package, but I don't think I'll be able to find one for $20,000 out the door with only 60k miles. InfinitiEric was kind enough to post the differences between technology packages for 2008, but he said specifically that it only implies 2008, so I'm kind of lost for 2006.

Besides missing the sports package, do you guys think that this car is missing anything else. It does have that rear DVD player in the center console and the tiny little Bose speakers that are on the shoulder rest of the driver and passenger seat. However, I'm still not sure what package this is. I know it doesn't have the sport package for sure because of the rims.

Do you guys think this is worth it?

It has the advanced tech package with rear DVD, and navigation. It seems like it has everything but the sport and aero packages. Thats a great deal.

^^Dude, I'm glad I talked financial sense into you, that's such an important thing nowadays and many young people never listen (me included) when other people offer advice, plus, you can easily upgrade your bumper to an 08+ u kno. Well, moving on to the car you found, I was never fond of white cars until I saw Chris' M, they're gorgeous in that color, not in love with the interior tho, but if you like it that's all that matter... remember you have 4 choices of interior colors with these cars... that color (the car you found,) Black (like mine,) Bourbon & Stone, IMO stone is the nicest of them all but obviously it will get dirty quicker & worn leather spots will show more than its other counterparts, after that I'd go for bourbon, it looks so classy & sporty at the same time and if you get coco mats, forgehabouitt, (inside joke.) Black is always a no brainer tho, however it's about what you like, & yes that seems like a good deal... if I was you I'd still get an M35 for potentially $10k less and in a couple of years get like a 2011 model M, but if you're going to keep this for a minute then go for it... had I known the price discrepancy when I bought my M I would've opted for an M35.

I sincerely doubt you are going to fine an M35 for only $10,000, even if it was a base model M with high miles. I think this 20k deal for an M45 is one of the best you will find and you will be very happy with the car.

I did on this very same thread not too long ago with 99k miles, pretty loaded & stone interior, plus I see them on craiglist easily for 13-15k all the time... & very clean.

It's just some add ons to the aesthetics of the car, no big deal if you're getting a body kit in the future, if not highly recommended, but it's probably hard to find on an used M cuz I think it's something (usually) that the new owner either buys pre vehicle delivery or after he has bought the car, meaning, they just dont sell the car like that at the dealer, you'd have to ask for it. 2 sideskirts, 1 rear bumper add on & 1 front bumper lip, if you upgrade your bumper to 08+ it wont do u no good, btw.

Thank you for all that info again.

Now I've found this one.. 2006 sport for $17,000, but it has 97k miles on it thought. And the guy sounds like he's pretty firm on that price.

What would you go with.. the 2006 non sport with 59k miles for $21,000-$22,000 out the door at a dealer or the 2006 sport with 97k miles for $17,000?

Id pick the sport one for less money. It still has all the advanced tech packages and stuff, and even comes with the uber rare chrome rims.

That's a no brainer to me. Non sport with only 59k miles & negotiate on that price...

hahaha alright guys? well which one??

A. Blanco.. Why do you say the non sport one for more money?

Enigma.. I already know why you would rather pick the sports one because that's the one I'm leaning more towards.. less money and I get the sports. (plus he's a private seller, so I won't have to deal with taxes and licensing)

The main thing with whatever car I do get, I want it to last me, pleasantly, at least for the next 5 years. The only thing with the sports one with 97k miles is I am concerned it won't make it to 200k.

I might have asked this already, but do you guys know of many 2006 M45's that have gone the distance.. 200k miles?

Anyways.. your thoughts would be most appreciated.

Because... 1. Im suspect on the sport version components being that much different than non sport 2. Basically what I'm saying is that the sport version is moslty for a few looks & not at all upgrades 3. It seems like you're going to mod your car anyways, arent u? therefore your would be non sport M would become sport anyways 4. I would gladly play $1,000 for 10k miles less on a car 5. Say you drive your car for 30k miles & decide to sell it or trade it in... a car with 130k miles vs a car with only 90k miles is a very different thing.

What exactly do u expect to get out of the sport version of the M? since your leaning towards it more than the non sport?

If it's about what you can afford then def go for the sport with higher mileage tho. If money isnt an issue the smart decision from a financial standpoint (and even modifying standpoint) would be to get the non sport.

I guess it my mind the rims and suspension are better on the sport no?

I don't plan to mod much.. just rims you know.

But i guess your right.. there shouldn't be anything the the sport has that the non sport doesn't have besides rims and suspension?
