i always heard that it is better to push than it is to pull.

maybe if it was front wheel drive, the 240 would be like the honda civic is today. riced out with big wings on the back of their front wheel drive cars

To me its completely stupid, it really is all about what the user of the car wants to do with the car (incase you didn't know, you can't drift a fwd car, and no, e-braking doesn't count). Correct me if I'm wrong but say a RWD and a FWD car with equal weight and power were to race, I would bet my life that the FWD car would have it off the line and probably throughout the time and distance of the race. I personally like the 240sx the most because of its looks and its tons and tons of aftermarket support, I probably would have bought one (I've had 3 so far) even if it was FWD. To me its a plus to have RWD though... well at the same time at also sucks at times, mostly winter.

Another good thing to factor in about the 240sx is that they are cheap, very cheap, my first one I got for $700 with a few aftermarket parts as well, the second was a waste of time but cost me $150 and traded some s***ty car parts, and my latest one is my coupe, $360 and all I had to replace was the LCA and axle and now the latest: the wheel. To me, cheap is good, I like cheap. Not ebay cheap, but good price cheap.

God, too much typing...wtf is wrong with me...
the aftermarket support is there due to cheap price for one and it being rwd. if it were fwd, why would anyone buy it? I mean seriously, 2800 lbs with a 155 hp motor that costs alot of money to get any decent performance out of it. Think 3k engine swaps, 1k coilovers, and those 3k volks, advans, work, or whatever wheels that you lust to put on your 240.

What I am getting at is this. If the 240 were fwd, you would have bought a civic in the first place.

The Honda dealership I bought my 240 from put FWD on the features list...What about the flip side of this? Imagine a RWD Altima. Turbo KA in a custom RWD Altima setup equals fun sedan in my book. Is that weird?

I got into the S chassis scene in 2002 Because they are FR. Before drifting took off.

After owning a RWD audi 4000, and driving a few RX7s, I was hooked on RWD. I just like the way they feel. Its likely I will own at least 1 RWD car for the rest of my life.

ummmmm.... i dont know what makes you think a FWD car will take a RWD car over pretty much every area of a road course.....

think about it. both cars have weight transfer when they both shoot out of the hole = weight being transferred to the rear of the car. that equates to more traction on the rwd car because of the weight being transferred over the rear tires which are the drive tires. now just because the FWD car has the weight of the motor over its front tires doesnt mean shlt. all cars with transfer weight to the rear of the car from a dig. on the FWD car that means less traction over the front tires. another factor is that even fwd cars are still pretty damn close to 50/50, so i wouldnt even put that into play here when coming out of a hole.

now in the twisties.... it depends on exactly what car it is and how its setup. sure, and ITR handles like a mofo on a road course. thats what the car was engineered for. lets find another comparable RWD car.... hmmmmm.... we could go domestic, jdm, or edm here.... c5 corvette, bmw m3, annndddd lets say an fd rx7. like i said, it all depends on how the car is setup, and i know that comparing a c5 vette to a ITR is like apples to oranges. the FD and the e36 m3 or more comparable. lets go with the M3 since this car was made to handle the twisties as well, and both have a comparable power to weight ratio. it would be a pretty damn close race, but id put my money on the M3 anyday over the ITR..... straight line dig, auto-x, road course, and drifting..... oh wait FWDLOL.

from a drivers standpoint on a road course %95 of drivers would prefer a RWD car over a FWD car because of ease of being able to handle the car by steering with the throttle when needed (cant exactly do that in a FWD car).

i think i said enough, and made a comparable argument with two very comparable cars.
