If by chance you go back to the pick-n-pull in the next couple of weeks, could you find out how much they would want for them? New from Joe is about $175. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on the injector subharness too if it's not completely shot...
I've been thinking about that since I read it in the other thread. I'll see what I can do, but it might be a week or so before I can go look.

BTW, Q is still running good. I found a can of BG in the garage that I'm going to run through it. I just need a good long road trip.

I frequent one on Route 38 in Mt. Laurel. You're from the area? We should be friends!

Lol. I'd love to have a NICO member that close!

Sure!I'm in Willingboro-Mt Laurel area all the time!

By the way, my dead miss went away after upgrading to premium gas. I thought it was related, but it may have been from a couple of long trips back to back to the shore (AC Expresssway-Parkway);

then it returned after some BP gas (which may or not be related).

Someone mentioned Tier 1 gasoline, so I filled up last night (from 1/2 tank) , and took it out for a good run.

I don't drive this car hard with 165,000 miles on it, nor do I drive hard or fast ANY car. (I did years ago: Mopar GTX - 440's, headers, 4:11 rears, trips etc then fast boats etc.)

But I gave this a kick, wide open and this car really screams. I did this 4 times last night and the miss is GONE! Didn't try it today yet.

I'm wondering if there are sticky valves, carbon build up? I don't think a half a tank of SHELL Tier 1 for a few miles did anything, but the kick in the butt DID, I think.

I've read the details of Tier 1 gas and there are different additives and concentrations, designed to keep parts CLEAN. MAYBE prolonged use of NON Tier 1 is causing more problems than I thought?

I've been driving fuel injected cars for 20 years now, regular gas, with never much thought about missfires that were anything other than periodic replacement of plugs and wires causing hestiation under a load; never injectors.

So my memory is refreshing the different kinds of missfires available... electrical (coilpacks now), fuel (injectors now), air-fuel mix (MAF sensor now), and sticky valves.... ?

I'll let you know.

I met Kieth VanMeter. GREAT guy, real knowledgeable and he explains things carefuly too. He listened with a stethescope to the injectors and can tell the difference between a good and bad one. I couldn't tell, but with some practice probably CAN. I wish he wasn't so far away.

The trick with the Q to keep it running well is to occasionally{once a week or so} drive it like you stole it, running it up to high RPM through the gears to blow out the carbon. Ouarterly to semi-annually use of a good injector cleaner like Redline si-1 dumped in the tank will clean injectors, valve deposits, and emission control valves.

BP is NOT Tier 1. If you have been attempting to run on regular, you are lucky you still have an engine!

A VH45DE is not a compromised truck engine but a designed from the bottom up (much more rigid than Yankee cast iron big blocks) as a race capable engine. Only if you don't maintain it can running it to the max once a week or even daily hurt it.

Keith is a jewel. I regularly drove 165 miles to a senior Infiniti technician for major service. How large is NJ?

How about this question - Will driving 600 miles with a bad injector damage anything?
Hi there I am new here and I would just like to take a second to say hello to everyone.

To answer you question quickly YES a damaged/seized injector can burn you converters up, this can happen very quickly if the injector is stuck open. If the injectors Ohm out within spec, than you may have a bad coil, diode pack or cam position sensor, although the latter typically causes a no start condition. If you only replace one ( and hopefully its one of the three that are easily accessible) do not be surprised if the symptom returns they like to be replaced in sets. Good Luck.

I go to Keith too! He did a huge job for me back in March. I've been needing to go back to his shop for an oil change and injectors. Mantua is a bit of a hike down 295. About 40 minutes for me.

OMG! Two gallons each way and 40 minutes of highway pleasure in a G50! How can you stand it?

Jersey is not big but it IS congested; one of the most densly populated states; plus we are used to getting everywhere quickly, and short distances.

my friend moved to a remote rural community and eventually thought NOTHING of driving 20 minutes for a gallon of milk or a pack of cigarettes.

not so for everyone else. 5 min drive max.

what does the term G50 mean? I hear these different phrases and can not equate them with any models? I looked and can't find any references either.

Wow, takes longer to warm the car to operating temperature in winter.

G50 is the chassis designation. The succeeding Q45 is FYG33 and the last one to date is the F50.

Drop me an email and I'll attach a chart in the reply.
