Yep, SW is a CAD / 3d solid modeling program.

Mettler, I can also post up a pic if other methods fall through

I emailed my blank designs to tmorgan4 so he could post up pics in case there are any more important dimensions to gain from it.

To be honest, once I finally get my a** into gear and finish the 3d simulation and design a profile suitable for my standard engine application, I'll release the whole design assembly for everyone here to use and modify as they wish.

I also have SolidWorks so I can post them up as well; if need be that is.

Have any of you that are ready to go with cams called Schneider Racing Cams? They always did pretty much whatever we wanted on weld up regrinds for the L and VG.

I looked into them but nobody has ever sent them anything solid. Mazworx has cams now, expensive but obtainable.

I'm sure if we had a group buy put together Schneider would do something sweet.

Anyone know the specs on the Mazworx cams? Do you have to cut the valve seats deeper or do the HLA take it?

Probably not even a group buy. They did some one off turbo VG33E cams for us a couple years back for nothing close to what some of these "import" places charge, and with very quick turn around.

the work just fine on stock pistons, drop in with some upgraded valve springs.

No no, I meant for valve clearances. You regrind a cam the base circle is going to be smaller. Can the HLA's cope with that or do you need longer valves/deeper valve seats?

Just so you guys know I sent an email to the NZ mob this morning to see if they are interested in a group buy price and also if the hydrogen process retains the factory base circle. And at what point upgraded springs are needed. I'm looking towards the stage 5

Keep us in the loop Anton. I know that Eric said that Tighe will do custom regrinds but he wants me to get the heads rebuilt, ported and the seats cut deeper to suit. I'd rather just drop the cams in

did Tighe give a price on that work?

The specs on the cams are as follows...

Stock:

Advertised Duration 240* Intake, 240* ExhaustDuration @ 0.050" lift 177* Intake, 176* ExhaustMaximum valve lift 0.368" Intake, 0.355" Exhaust

Mazworx:

Advertised Duration 272* Intake, 272* ExhaustDuration @ 0.050" lift 185* Intake, 185* ExhaustMaximum valve lift 0.420" Intake, 0.420" Exhaust

IIRC the rocker ratio is something around 1.7:1, meaning a change in 0.075" of valve lift requires a change of 0.044" of cam lift, or a base circle reduction of 0.044" since these are regrinds.

Is HLA/Valve work required? No, the change in base circle is small enough that the HLAs can take it up without worries.

However, when I had my heads done (which Jerry has now) I had a racing valve job done, which basically moved the valve stem tip up once the valve seats and valves were machined. This re-established the proper rocker/cam clearance, and I had that valve height matched on all cylinders. Granted, the rocker then sat at a slightly different angle, but this is also not out of the relm of acceptable by any means.

I would be interested in how much the 4.5% increase in duration accomplishes. Are we not limited by the oem stock intake runner length to plenum? I would guess the preak power rpm only moves up 250 rpms.Riughly the same amount for lift increases. so 25-30HP?.

$120-$150 a cam I think. Not sure if they can build them up though. I wasn't going to bother until I get mine working and on the road. And get more money

Thanks for the other info Steve. Thought the duration at 0.050" would have been more I'll be keen to see what sort of gain Jerry get out of his as it's manual.
