My personal take on the coilover brands breaks down like this.
JIC's are decent in price, but can blow pretty easily. I've seen a few of them go, not specifically on the 240, but on MR2's, IS300's and other applications. I'm not too sure about the length of time they take to rebuild either.
Tein are an excellent value. They're good for what you pay for.
D2's aren't really road proven in my book yet, just my personal take on it but being around for a year just isn't enough to have an idea as to the quality of the units. I've seen a few of them installed on local guys, but wasn't really impressed.
My recommendations go to GP-Sports, Cusco, and Zeal. Having owned a set of the GP-Sports GR-6's and now looking for a set of the Zeal function D's all I can say is wow. The only issues I saw with the GP was the little allen screw on the tube and the fact that they're not rebuildable stateside. Zeals are awesome, but expensive. They can be rebuilt in a day if you're in socal, but typical turnaround is 3 days. I like that kind of service and their reputation is excellent. Cusco I haven't seen anyone need to use their rebuild service personally and I haven't asked about it either. But their quality is also backed by their outstanding reputation.
Seriously people who boast that they've got so and so many damper settings and look at the price as their bottom line should reconsider their way of thinking. There's more to a coilover than damper settings, if the coilover is well built, it doesn't need that many damper settings to mask the lesser quality to make a selling point. The price is always an issue regardless and I know that, but just keep in mind you're always going to get what you pay for.
