i havnt had experience with any other coilover than the flta2, but they feel great in corners provided the road is even and smooth. i had them at 8/6kg, and it was a little much for the roads in my area, not for comfort, but for driving confidence. i wouldnt recommend lowering more than 2" for street use, you will take away too much suspension travel and end up skating over bumps, not to mention putting excess stress on suspension components. the coilovers are off my car right now, and i plan on putting them back on with 6/5kg (just switched the 6's to the front and bought new 5's, $180). im just going to look at the drops after market springs use, and pick one that i like. changing the relative height front to rear will change balance.

ive also had no problems with clearence, i just have stock 15's. the reason coilovers rub is because the lower spring perch is next to the tire instead of being above it like on stock equipment, my car was lowered almost as much as the coilovers would allow the last time with no problems.

ive sent a damper to jic in california before, and that is where i ordered my springs.

mostly little things. i have the 7/5 and the dampening rates are barely enough for how i like them up front. The rears feel awesome however. They ride nice, but i want something stiffer now that i have adjusted to having something this stiff. I just replaced all my suspension componetry with SPL parts. Which now has left them feeling very soft, so i think the HE's being more stiff will help with that. After waiting 3 months for these to arrive i don't feel like doing the same for another set of springs. Although i don't think i'd have huge problems getting a hold of a set of 9's and putting my 7's in the rear...but then i have my first problem again with the dampening. Seeing how i only have one click left till i hit the stop on the adjuster. For the money, i think they're great. They definately are much better than a shock/spring combo. If i didn't have a buyer for these and the extra cash for the difference i'd just keep them, but since i have both of those, bye bye senorita=)

when i had my alignment done, they only did .1 on one side and .5 on the other up front, because the camber plates were hitting the strut towers. Now looking at the design again i guess that was my bad, there are 3 sets of screw holes for the 2 screws that go in the top. I guess you just move the far ones back one step. But that rings a question about how well it'll hold since your moving them closer together, almost effectively making one large bolt holding in place on both sides. i'll include a pic in a second.[URL=http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4 ... 7340&idx=3]

My personal take on the coilover brands breaks down like this.

JIC's are decent in price, but can blow pretty easily. I've seen a few of them go, not specifically on the 240, but on MR2's, IS300's and other applications. I'm not too sure about the length of time they take to rebuild either.

Tein are an excellent value. They're good for what you pay for.

D2's aren't really road proven in my book yet, just my personal take on it but being around for a year just isn't enough to have an idea as to the quality of the units. I've seen a few of them installed on local guys, but wasn't really impressed.

My recommendations go to GP-Sports, Cusco, and Zeal. Having owned a set of the GP-Sports GR-6's and now looking for a set of the Zeal function D's all I can say is wow. The only issues I saw with the GP was the little allen screw on the tube and the fact that they're not rebuildable stateside. Zeals are awesome, but expensive. They can be rebuilt in a day if you're in socal, but typical turnaround is 3 days. I like that kind of service and their reputation is excellent. Cusco I haven't seen anyone need to use their rebuild service personally and I haven't asked about it either. But their quality is also backed by their outstanding reputation.

Seriously people who boast that they've got so and so many damper settings and look at the price as their bottom line should reconsider their way of thinking. There's more to a coilover than damper settings, if the coilover is well built, it doesn't need that many damper settings to mask the lesser quality to make a selling point. The price is always an issue regardless and I know that, but just keep in mind you're always going to get what you pay for.

after looking at some of the Signal auto's pics of their strut towers and PBM's, i guess it's ok to have them in the close two bolt holes, so i guess that's not a big deal...i do find it odd however that they shipped them in those holes. Who knows, having never purchased others, i'll see how the HE's come out of the box.

well i wound up deciding to keep the D2's and put the extra $500 toward my KA-T instead, since i just picked up a Z31 Turbo. Part of it is i swapped out so much at one time. As it all settles in, it feels better and better all the time.
