No not fleshlight...that's just...well, ok, not useless but no. Flashlights

I just got my little Fenix Lights LDO1 in the mail today...I've already blinded myself with it.

I'm kind of in awe at how bright it is for only using one AAA battery.

http://www.fenixlight.com/viewproduct.asp?id=85

it's 40 bucks....but honestly, for a flashlight packing this power that goes unnoticed clipped to a pocket or in a purse on a keychain, that's a hell of a bargain.

I'm a sucker for flashlights, I usually pick up the cheap led flashlights at auto part stores or home depot but I've been wanting to get a larger high powered one for the house that's led.

I haven't heard of a light being banned.

there's a few surefire lights that can be seen from space with the right setup.

I like maglights and all, but they're not as bright as some of the other stuff on the market and fit in my pants about as well as my d!ck.

I need to shell out some serious cash to get a bright f*** light for my bike.

I have tried various $30 types... and while its better then nothing its really more to help you be seen, not see.
One of my buddies has one that was like $70 that is brighter then most car headlights. Really need to do something like that.

I have a Surefire rechargeable I got off a Snap-On truck 4 years ago. s*** has been through hell and back. Drops onto concrete, soaks in brake fluid, almost getting plasma-cut...Still brighter n' hell.
What you really need is this mother of a flashlight...though I'd prefer to call it a flarelight.

I used a Surefire Backup when I was working at Big O. Works great for those crazy dark spots. Now it sits in the case next to my pistol in case someone wants to get cute in the middle of the night.

http://www.surefire.com/E1B-Backup

Has two settings, 110 lumens for blinding the S*** out of the bad guy and 5 lumens for some low level tactical light. Best thing about it, it weighs LESS than 3 ounces with battery so you'll never get tired carrying it around.

I have two surefires and they're amazing. One's an E2D Defender and one's a G2. I'm no flashlight nerd, but one of my friends is a surefire fan for the weapon lights and such, and I totally agree with how great these Surefires are. The E2D is awesome with the dual output, and it is ridiculously bright for its size. I know they can be sorta pricy, but it backs it up with high quality products.

I carry a bright-assed Surefire LED light. Aluminum body with 120 lumens I think it is. I would like the strike bezel for it.

We use Pelican flashlights at work which replaced the much larger and heavier 4 cell Maglights. The fit-in-your-pocket flashlight Pelicans have a xenon bulb and the ones we use put out a tremendous amount of light for being powered by only two C batteries. They also come with a lifetime guarantee so they're very durable.

I have one of them. I picked it up for $27.

If you want to really crap your pants throw a 10440 Li-ion in there. The runtime on high is only like 30 minutes, but the output is over 200 lumens :chuckle:

I assume it cuts the runtime down about half in all modes?

right now, 80 lumens outta the little bastard is fine for me.

and my god, a flashlight forum meet...I didn't think something like that would ever exist.

looks like the internet isn't just for p0rn anymore!

What's funny I'm an active member over on candlepower forum.

If you want to see something cool check out the Mag85. It's one of the many "Hot mods" for the Maglite. I built two of them. Nothing like ~1250 bulb lumens from a 3d Maglite!

But that's the fun of it! With a Mag628(IIRC) you can literally start paper on fire from a foot away!!!

To answer your question, on a traditional Mag85 build there is no driver. It's just batteries and a bulb.

You can add a driver to regulate current and/or voltage to the bulb to regulate output. That adds ~$15 to the build.

I've have a few surefires. I've taken one of them to Iraq twice. It's still just as bright as the first day I got it. Batteries are expensive and not readily available and it sucks them fast. But they also can be stored a long time. I have beat the crap out of both of mine and nothing stops them. Waterproof, dustproof, dropproof. A buddy of mine actually ran his over with a hummvee and it still works great. Biggest thing is the price. Some models are over 100.00 but barring losing it, it'll last forever.

I just bought one.
Although instead of a $40 Fenix Lights LDO1, I got the iTP A3 EOS for $25
