that pic wasnt from 'import nights', it was the IDRC east coast nationals....no night racing for me : D

site looks legit atleast, lol....id recommend seeing if they have any 'testimonials', or would allow you to contact someone that has delt with them before....they might get anoyeed by you asking something like that, but i see you say you have been talking with them for a while, so im sure they wouldnt take it the wrong way...are motors instock? or are they just buying them through a importer? ie preselling?

Well take a good look at the pics they show you on what you are buying. Then get them to assure you that those pics are what you get. If so, it should be a done deal. The pic should show you if everything you need is actually there.

It's my personal feeling that I wouldn't drop anything even close to $2000, let alone more to anyone who I hadn't met personally. TO people not on the coasts, that's not as easy, but these people are in Malaysia. Our laws don't apply there, so if you get screwed, you're screwed. Also, I heard about this on another thread, some people who import SR20DET's are getting them from Europe, out of the 200SX's. And those engines are not at all like the engines that come from Japan, they are very beat up, and that is why they are able to sell them for so cheap.

Just some stuff to think about.

If you look at the pic on flashoptions of the redtop in the black frame, there's a huge hole in the overfill resevior and no cap on the radiotor. also looks like the ic cold pipe was removed than put back in a halfassed manner....the red one looks better, condition anyway, but ic pipe also looks removed and not put back correctly (these were pointed out to me by nismo_freak)

I might just be overcritical, but this isn't a good sign.

First picture is of an SR20 clip, then the second pic is some Honda clip. And it's supposed to be a Mitsu clip.

bud is right, if you go to their page for the s13 sr20 front clip and go to one of the smaller pictures you can enlarge, it is the same pic that they have listed as the lancer mivec. :(

I'll repeat my other post since it seems this spans three threads:

They're in Malaysia, thats why their English isn't the best. There is no warranty. They are not responsible for anything, and if you have a problem and they actually approve you you're subject to all freight charges and a 20% restocking fee. Have you ever tried to send something to Malaysia? : ) It says 330 dollars shipping to anywhere in America, I wonder if any other fees apply to that. I like to look at the bad side of things, some people think I'm a pessimist, but I prefer to view it as a pragmatist having known more than my fair share of people to have been ripped off. Good Luck!

I have to agree. Peace of Mind is worth the extra money, IMO. Go through a reputable source.

I emailed them just for the hell of it asking tons of typical questions like warranty, condition, what's included, not included, etc etc etc...here's their response:

"Hi, we guarantee our engines are in tip top condition we're Japanese Wholesaler in United States without any problem almost 80% of USA japan engine seller takes engine from us. So we can assure you, our engines are in marvellous condition. The warranties would be a 3 months warranty. We'll take care of the shipping back to us. We'll also replace immediately. We guarantee you 100% good condition less than 30,000miles. As promised checked and tested compression test. All those parts power steering all given as your buying the front clip. "

Cheap because they are over seas and sell abused motors with cut harnesses and probably missing sensors. (might be exagerating too much or too less, you be the judge):D

As someone being curious about this flashoptions company...i'd say go with the cheap engine....but as someone that doesn't want to see someone get screwed over, i'll have to say go with the S14 engine from your friend. That way you'll know what you're getting. A little confidence is priceless.

By the way the SR20det Flash options was selling for 950.oo could have been FWD, because the front clip SAYS RWD but the motor set for 950.0 doesnt. Just something I noticed.

Yes please post what people who have bought from them have said!

WHO IS THE SELLER? SILVIAGIRL79!!! HAHA.... SO EITHER SILVIAGIRL79 IS THE SPY FROM THE MALAYSAIAN COMPANY, OR SHE'S ALREADY BOUGHT ONE FROM THE COMPANY TRYING MAKE MONEY ON EBAY.HAHA.... I'VE COME UP WITH A CONCLUSION. FIRST IF SILVIAGIRL79=FLASHOPTIONS? THIS COMPANY IS A LIAR.. SECOND IF THEY ARE DIFFERENT PERSONS, AND SILVIAGIRL HAS ALREADY BOUGHT THE FRONT CLIP(W/RED FRAME) FROM THEM. THEY SHOULD'VE SOLD IT OUT. WHY IS THAT CLIP STILL ON THEIR WEBSITE. EITHER CASE FLASHOPTIONS IS A LIAR. HOW DO U GUYS THINK? HAHA.............

Looks like someone has some explaining to do....

Someone better start getting some definitive answers on this company and what's going on with silviagirl79...cus this whole flashoptions thing is spanning multiple threads now asking the same questions, so either give us answers or mods delete any thread referring to flashoptions and be done with it

I asked exactly what that $330 shipping charge covered...here is there answer:

"Hi, we have dealers all over United States but they sell their prices extremely high. Getting from us directly you'll have a huge discount. USD330 shipping to the US PORT. You'll just pay for the import tax which we'll declare only USD300 so tax could be only USD30-USD40 because it's a used engine and it's rubbish metal is being declared. and then freight forwarding agency fee could range from USD 100 - USD150 to my knowledge depending how far fromt he nearest port in United States to your house."

So $1600 + 300 + 30 + 300(shipping within the country has always been in the 300 range to my knowledge) = ~$2,230 latest price on heavy throttle is $2500 plus shipping so they'd be in the $2800 range. Is the uncertainty and hassle worth the $600? Not to me.

Please buy from someone in America. Yes, you will pay more. Do I care if you buy from me, no. Do I care that you buy from a reputable source, yes. Buying "American" allows all sorts of good benefits, no customs to worry about, no hidden charges if you get someone reputable, and best of all, OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM APPLIES. You get screwed, you at least have a CHANCE of getting your money back. But hey, do whatever you want, if you want the cheap route, be prepared to receive cheap. I can tell you first hand those are junkyard specials for that cheap, front clip or not. Enjoy your day, and do whatever you like, as I said before, call me a pessimist, call me biased, whatever, but I would suggest http://www.heavythrottle.com for all your missing and broken pieces. Enjoy your day!
