Ok i was wrong, the driveshaft loop has to be a round loop made of steel going around the drive shaft to prevent damage in the case of u-joint failure. The carrier bearing qualifies for this but NHRA guidelines require it to be within 6 inches of the front u-joint, which rules out the carrier bearing. My mistake, sorry to inconvenience you with my inferior knowledge of automoblies.

the carrier bearing doesnt qualify as anything. All it is there for, is to provide support for the factory 2 piece driveshafts, you CANNOT use a factory carrier bearing on a 1 piece driveshaft, the entire geometry of the driveshaft angle etc changes. There is no way it would fit.

JR i hope this helped you out, when do you want to do the vero meet?

Why not get a normal shift light and install it into the a/c vent? It will light up, and not be visable and is very simple.

only if people would read into their info before they speak it. this is why i got an NHRA membership and got the book and my subscription to National Dragster. IM a huge drag racing guy, A #1 reason i bought the stang, but i was very un knowledgable about the rules, so i got the book

maybe you should stop reading that rule book, seeing how your car isn't that fast. anyway ive never seen a tech inspector at moroso crawl under a car to check for a freakin driveshaft loop and yes ive seen plenty of 10 and 11 sec. sportsman get tech'd in. thats all folks.

i dont care how fast my mustang is, doesnt have to be RETARDED fast in order to win races, just consistant. Thats what im aiming for. Once i get my tires on, should dip in into the high 12s and thatll be plenty enough.

Jr, have you thought of doing a Z32 trans in the car, I know Mazworx up in orlando will do the plate, all youd need is the trans and a driveshaft, could make some serious power and not really have to worry too much

jr wont make more than one pass with his car before they jump on it if he doesnt have everything checked. Im down at the track WEEKLY now, im part of 2 super pro teams, ive got my info straight. Moroso has new management and is expanding alot. And part of that has been an almost entirely new staff of techs and track crew. The only people still there are patrick, little john and he starter whom i dont know yet.

Also, JR was speaking of actually running something other than sportsman. Sportsman is for noobz anyway so you enjoy it yourself, i run dialins, its much more fun going against dragsters and 10 second door cars anyway

no offense or anything because i could care less what is said on this forum, but you sound like some 50 yr. old talking about his v8 and how he's gone to the track for the past 30 yr's and doesn't care how fast it is as long as its pure american muscle. dial ins in most cases are for slow cars that are consistently slow. i like racing heads up, faster car wins because its the best way to race. whoever has the faster car has done a better job building it so they deserve a win.
