people use "techno" as a term for all types of electronic music, but actually techno is a style of electronic music, like trance, house, breaks, jungle, drum n bass, etc...

All you list here isn't a techno "techno".

Techno as a style of music goes deep into 70-ies in Detroit and Germany.

Very popular music in Europe, in Germany in particular. Almost every person goes there on "techno paaties" on the weekend.

Detroit techno - my favorite Kevin Saunderson and Derrick CarterEuropean - Der Dritte Raum, Cari Lekebush, Adam Beyer etc.

sorry, but oakie has been around YEARS longer then "armin van buuren" (sp noob) has. paul was one of the biggest spinners of trance until he switched over to whatever the hell he makes now...mainstream $.

:) ...well at least someone knows whats up when it comes to real music. i applaude you stealth!

MOTO thanks for being the other informed person here :) good info for the uninformed.

The are so many genres anymore that unless you are actually really into this music you probably have no idea about them. It gets harder to even distinguish between them and sometimes it only comes down to bpm or preference..

What you think because Oakenfold has been around longer he is automatically better than Armen?? You're crazy

And all you can do is critisize my spelling? Then you really don't have anything sorry.

i never said he was better. don't assume so. i said he has been around longer.

funny how you idolize mr. ARMIN, but can't even spell his name...

armin is just regular trance. which infommercial dance cd did you learn his name from?
