Hey everyone - I thought I'd toss out a link for some good, comercial free, streaming beats. Nothing too hardcore here, just _extremely_ good chilling music(or programming, if you'r into that sorta thing). Check it at http://www.somafm.com. No way affiliated with them, just like the music they offer. http://www.shoutcast.com is another good site for streaming links(all sorts of genre).

I just used the word techno to include all forms of electronic music, personally I prefer progressive euro trance, breaks, an dnb. Best artist right now I think is DJ-Icey. Good song is Fine Night by DJ FBI

I jam Goa Psy-Trance more than anything. Infected Mushroom is a all you need. Asterix and Son Kite are good too. If I wanna jam generic techno, DJ Tiesto - Magik 5 and 6.

And that AWFUL Sandstorm song was by Darude. God I hate that 10 year old generic kind of crap....

"Sandstorm" by Darude... yeah that's about one of the only techno songs I know right now. :) That and "Come Into My Dreams" by Foggy.

as common as it is, gotta love Sandstorm, one of my favorite songs of all time. actually i like most of Darude's stuff.

and almost any Oakenfold mix, other than "starry eyed suprise" (mainly because i hate that one hit wonder band he remade it with) is very high on the list.

hmmm...the first techno song i ever listened was by dj keoki(anyone know who that is? i havent met anyone that does, cept my bro and one of his friends) the album was ego trip and thats what got me started.I hate darude, god do i hate him, so played out and at school everyone associates techno w/him. I listen to all genres of trance, ferry corsten, dj tiesto(one of my favs.) oakenfold, infected mushroom S.U.N. Project, **** van dyke, dj icey, orbital, lasgo, hybrid(one of my new favs.)william orbit, juno reactor, dieselboy, carl cox, and some of my own stuff that i make and loop on acid pro 4.0, ppk(played out tho) and there is more i just cant think of right now.

Im gonna have to say any song by Paul Van Dyk. Sasha is up there too, and some dark techno with Massive Attack. Oakenfold has his moments, but seems to be turning into BT and going for more pop culture (except in Swordfish) . Id have to say one of the best artists is Crystal Method though, Tweekend is one of the best cds ive listened to. Ah but the list goes on...

The Crystal Method, ATB, DJ Keoki (yes, I've heard of him - I have Altered-Ego-Trip, the remix CD), DJ Shadow, Oakenfold, Quivver ("She Does" - still one of my all-time favorite songs), DJ Qbert (heh heh), Prodigy, Sonic Mayhem, Thievery Corporation, Armand Van Helden...

It's all good. Darude has good stuff, Sandstorm is a classic. ATB is my favorite trance artist right now I think ("Hold You" and "Let U Go" are the ideal trance songs).

I used to listen to a lot of hard house too so I have some of that for when I'm feeling really hyper. Lisa Pin-Up, BK, etc.

nice picks.

ICEY is by far one of my favorites, seen him a few times, hes awesome live. tiesto is also very good live.

oakenfold, no matter how long hes been around, will never gain my respect back, i've seen him multiple times live and all i can say is that he sux. he has made some good tracks, but how can u be the #1 dj in the world when ur knockin needles across records while trying to mix....

I've seen Oakenfold live several times as well - and I'd have to say that how well he performs depends on how much he cares about the venue. I saw him at the Roxy in Manhattan w/ Dave Ralph and he was phenomenal, and I've seen him at small venues where he'll just walk away from the tables.

i havent seen oakenfold live yet, but ive seen donald glaud and it was pathetic. he couldnt hold the beat so he finally shut the tables down and started shouting out to the crowd like it was apart of his spin.

ive seen baby anne and she tore it up... even at a small venue.
