When cruising down the mexican 5 freeway in Baja, I usually hit speeds up to 110 mph. Anything more is really stressing the engine and pushing safety. If you get caught down there, a $20 bill is your golden ticket to send you on your way again. This video is here in CA with a professional driver on a closed course.

Ya know, I was wanting to take my whip out to BFE and run it. . 110 is promising. .

Part of the reason for getting my qx4 was to slow myself a bit. . I needed a sedan of some sort, but realized this was my opportunity to get something a bit better than just some ****ty Corolla or something.

I took it to the governor (about 112mph I think) twice... both times going down hill when I had the QX4 in California. Once was on a back road coming down from Big Bear, and the other time heading into Palm Springs on I-10 late at night. Felt pretty solid. Probably wouldn't do it again now that it's older.

I did 110 once down the I-805. Was late for my fiance's (now wife) bridal shower

Now I rarely go above 80, though that is my typical hwy speed. Too much wind around here for my liking, makes the engine stress harder.

After I get some mods and suspension upgrades, I'm going to attempt 120. I think 140 is the fastest they should go without significant stability modification.

I only reached 100mph...i was on the Jersey Tpk and Lexus was gettin close real quick ahead of me so i had to slow down. LOL Man it was a struggle to get it up there though, the truck is too slow! Well at least i believe it's the 97-00's that are slow anyway

oh come on, it isn't that bad, as far as power is concerned... youre just used to that G35 But 100 is fast enough to cause a serious rollover accident if anything goes wrong. I always check the whole car over before driving 100 for a long stretch of time, and only when no other cars around. Be careful out there.

my first / last SUV was a 91 Rodeo S 5spd V6.

For some reason, I loved it. . . but what a TURD. I got it up to 90 once, and almost shat myself. It took ages... With that said, my VG powered QX feels like a rocket in comparison.. I guess I don't need a fast SUV... I drove an X5 4.4i once, and that was quick and fun. . but. . why?also, it's not an SUV a male should drive.

I am careful, i don't have too much of a lead foot. And it's not like i do 100 on my daily trip to work! HA I was trying to catch up to somebody that time. And I've only done 90 in the G...granted I just hit 1,500 miles and when i did 90 i was in a real bad mood

Around 105 MPH on the NJ Turnpike going down a long straight road (slope down from a bridge) following a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Probably 5-10 MPH off since the speedos are never correct. I didn't want to go faster (even though i was alone and the road was empty and smooth other than the jeep). Also the QX4 (with VQ35) feels like a boat compared to a "sports sedan" or sports car. I swear the thing was going to tip over or float over the barrier.

man. . I've never driven a VQ R50, but I'd probably think it was the fastest thing out there. .

Well it's got pretty good low end torque and the trottle is a bit sensitive, so i guess you get that "awesome vtec just kicked in" feel from a dig. It does feel faster (at start, at least) compared to econo boxes like Corollas and 4 cyl Camry's. But from a higher speed roll (above 30 mph) the QX4 feels a tiny bit sluggish especially with the slow shifting transmission. When i need to pass someone on the highway going ~45+ there's always a delay in downshifting (it stays on it's curent gear for maybe half a second then it downshifts). Meh, it's good enough for me when it comes to a daily driver (minus the gas drinking part!).

Unless you've found a way to disable the governor then you didn't. How did you even find this thread?

you can send your ECU to i think its like JET technologies or something and they reflash it for you and you can disable governor.

Took my qx4 to 170kmh which is like 100mph on hwy 400 one night, it is quite easy to get to that point, mind you for those that don't know, hwy 400 is 6 lanes wide.

Got pulled over in NY doing 90mph during the late nite I had no chance of slowing down. I got that ticket brought down with not demerit points on my license. I have a leadfoot like most ppl but thats not my excuse, lol

Fastest I've gone in my 3.5 Q was 85 mph while passing a semi on an interstate highway. I don't like taking my time around those things. I'm not sure how fast I could get it to go, but it didn't have a problem getting to 85 mph.

Multiply Kms times .62 to get miles.140 kph=87mph.

I've touched 160Km/hr. in mine (100mph), and it still had lots of room to go. Didn't want to push it too hard though, or get a ticket.

I got up to 110mph driving back to school once. Thought for sure the wheels would fall off.

I average about 90mph driving to/from school (330mi. in less than 5 hours). Greatest investment in my Pathy is my Valentine 1, without a doubt.
