Exactly true. This is why I don't vote if I don't know who Im voting for. I refuse to vote when my mom and gf say "vote democrat no matter what". I like who I like from their politics and views.

I dont know if this is a local thing (northern VA), but has anyone else seen the commercial about the aborted babies? They showed pictures of dead babies to fight abortion. Its alittle extreme I think. My mom called and left a nasty voicemail about it lol, but I see her reason.

Looks like Fimian will take my district. Trade a spendthrift liberal with a shady "conservative."

I'm not a pot smoker but I voted for it. I'm glad it's passing. One less thing for the government to control.

Prop 203 is AZ's pot one. There is like a 9k vote difference right now.

My bad. I already shredded my sample ballot but I thought 107 was the pot one.

(googles 107)

Ah yes. I did vote yes on 107. Affirmative action has outlived it's usefulness. It was a good thing at first but is no longer necessary. I'm glad it passed.

I agree that it's time to end the evil socialist agenda that is embraced by roughly HALF OF THE POPULATION (and in some states, MORE than half). What the hell do they know, anyway? This isn't their country, it's OURS.

I heard there was a moment at the Stewart-Colbert Rally, where they both appeared in identical American-flag fleece-pullovers. Colbert demanded that Stewart take it off, and proclaimed, "I'm wearing [the flag]; you're desecrating it."

Logical fallacy.
Not that I'm all that eager to take a satirical quip and turn it into an actual debate, but how is this a logical fallacy? The logical fallacy is a candidate elected by a minority of the population stating that the majority of people support him/her and that prescribed ideology. That is taking a comparitive and extrapolating a superlative.

Had I said "evil capitalist agenda" instead, would you have posted the same reply? :)

OIC.

I guess I wasn't applying the bandwagoning category to the comment because it was designed to point out the fact that the other side was doing the bandwagoning.

Touche. Two wrongs don't make a right.

But three lefts do.

I'm not entirely sure that it fits. In reading the explanation on that link, I almost thought that you might be right. But in looking at the example and the explanation of the example, I'm coming to the conclusion that you're not.

Crypt's point wasn't that the agenda was socialist, it was that whatever's purported to be socialist by the opposition is supported by the candidates elected by half (more or less) of the electorate. Your link points out that it's a fallacy to think that a popular thing is true, but it doesn't address Crypt's point: a popular thing is popular.

And if this conversation goes on much longer, the thread will die.

I'm addressing the implied suggestion that it matters if its popular. It doesn't.

Right is right.

/Wrong is wrong.
