Easiest way to connect fogs?

So... I want to buy these fog lights because I'm tired of looking at the stupid foglight hole in my bumper with the cheap *** plastic cover. I want to stick some fog lights where they rightfully belong.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

This is the cheapest I've seen and I'm gonna order them. Now my problem is that I got a 2.5 and although I haven't personally checked myself, everyone says it is not pre-wired. So... how would I wire my fogs? In discussions with my gf's dad, we were thinking of using the wire for the parking lights since I'm going to disconnect them anyway when I get my eyelids.

Is that a bad idea? Is there an easier route? Do you have links to a 'how-to' tutorial? If I go this route... I'm starting to think I won't be able to add HIDs if I do this to the fogs.

use a 4 pin relay.

pin 30 - 12v from batterypin 87 - fog light (+)pin 85 - signal wire (in this case the parking light wire)pin 86 - ground

this way you get 12v directly from the battery and dont have to worry about blowing fuses and melting wires.

Exactly!!

Doing it this way will allow you to have your foggies with the park lights without having your headlights on

Again... sorry for the ignorance. So that pin relay... how will that fit in my fuse box? Do you just run wires through the top and close it on the wire? And how do I make sure those prongs fit in the holes in the fuse box? Ahhhh, I think I'm way in over my head.

I'll try to take some pics. I'm sure my gf's dad will know. He's an electrican after all. But just in case...

You don't actually plug that relay onto the fusebox, just run wire to it. You'd have to run a wire from the fusebox to the pin on the relay that is for Constant power, check the post above for the wiring.

just take off one of your bolts on your car and then retighten it with the relay.

its really really easy to do. also run a 30a fuse from pin30 to battery +

edit: where in socal are you at? if your close by, i can help you

As soon as I get my fogs. Most likely this weekend. I don't know the extra parts that I need though. If my gf's dad doesn't know what I'm talking about when I mention the 4-pin relay that you told me about... I'ld really appreciate your help.

Last time I had a car mod for my other car, an SER spoiler I had asked him for help... but then ended up doing it with my brother. He got a little hurt over that and I've already mentioned this to him... so I'll know soon enough.

Dude, San Pedro is like down the street from Torrance. You two should get together and work something out.

And yea, I'll most def take pictures. Hopefully I can get a custom user title out of this because of this GREAT contribution for all my fellow 2.5'ers.

not to be mean but are you sure your gf's dad is an electrician? they should know about relays if he is one.

Lol. Man, if you would be willing to help me... I would drive to Torrance AND buy you a six pack or whatever. Come on, I wouldn't expect you to help me AND still drive down to my house.

Unless you really want to of course..........

Word - Its really annoying that they couldn't drop a few little wires in there to make life easy.

Eagerly awaiting the write-up!

^**** I know. We drop 20K+ on a car and they can't spare a few more wires.

Anyways... I got the fogs in the mail yesterday. All that came is the housing and the bulb. No wires connected to it.

http://www.rallylights.com/hel...sp#H8^Is that what I would need to connect to the bulb coming out of the fog light housing?

Did you order the OEM fog lights that are stock off ebay? I know those don't come with any wiring and since our car doesn't have the d*mn harness you will have to wire it all manually. I'm also waiting for the write up because I'd rather install the stock fogs than aftermarket and run the wiring myself just for the look.

Yea, for some reason I think they'll be too hard to find. Is that link I posted what I would need though? It says H11. I guess this would just delay the install a couple days. I guess it's official, no HIDs in the fogs.

Yea, those are the ones I ordered. I was hoping it at least had the H11 plug to connect to the bulb. Oh well, it was still a great deal.
