I've given up on the foggies! Last time I spoke with Kyle he said they were working on creating the front fascia for the sedan so I'm sure it won't support fog lights like the one for the coupe! Oh well.... At least I gotz my HIDS!

woah some relay talk in here... anyone know what type/size/kind of relay we would need to put an LED in the front turn signal? (and not have a fast flash)

a normal relay should work. since when you use your turning signals, the relay is getting the same voltage so it shouldnt blink fast. you would also need to put resistors on the power source.

This is how my fogs look like from the back. No wires or anything. Simply the housing and the bulb. So you solder the wire onto this?

The link I posted earlier from rallylights.com.... isn't that what I need?

If not, would Autozone have it? If not, then what else can I do?

I think you can, but it's gonna be a pain in the *** everytime a bulb burns out, you want to change the type, put HIDs, etc...

If worse comes to worse, this is the route I'm gonna take.

you do it that way then. i personally would not want to mickey mouse a wiring job and prefer to do it right the first time.

Funny. I just read in another thread that a member installed his hid's and found a wire harness for fog lights on a 2.5. I know we've been going back and forth on if they are actually pre-wired but I thought we came to the conclusion they're not??

Nicccccccce. One step closer to completing this.

I just called up a couple autozones and I now have 2 h11 female connectors. The rest is up to my gf's dad.

I'm about to head on out. Anything else I might need so he can tap into the parking lights?

Hi,you mentionned about the canadians being pre wired...even 2.5? does that mean, the installation is way easier?also, what are HID? (kinda xenon fog lights? are they harder to install? how much is terms of $?thx for details!

I don't remember mentioning anything about canadians being pre-wired but if that's true... yes, soooo much easier.

All you do is remove the cover, put in the fog housing and plug the bulb into the existing harness that is there. After that you just switch out the switch assembly and you're done.

HIDs are brighter lights than the stock halogens. You can get pretty good quality ones off e-bay for about 70-80 shipped. It's a real easy install.

And sorry guys, my gf's dad isn't up to it tonight. He promised me tomorrow though as soon as he gets home from work.

Thx, I think it's someone else who mentionned it further up ...When you talk about the wires and on/off switch...what is to be done? I mean, the car does not have any switch yet...so I'll have to install one (how?where?)

thx

Lol, mainly you but yea, no doubt. Will have it up tomorrow by I'll say 9pm at the latest.

Hey, I know you said you tried autoparts stores around where you live but you couldn't find the h11 connectors? I called up the Autozone I usually buy my stuff from and he said they only had the ones for 9006, 9007 and those type. But no H11. So I called up another Autozone on the way to my gf's house and they had some. 15 bucks each though.

I found some on ebay, 15 for the pair. I rather pay the 30 at Autozone for the pair instead of waiting and to make sure it's actually what I need. If not, I can return it easily instead of just eating the 15 bucks.

IF your car is pre-wired... all you do is plug it into the EXISTING wire harness that is in the foglight hole. After that, you have to buy a new switch assembly, that's the stalk that you use to turn on your headlights. A new switch assembly will also include the foglights. You wouldn't need to install a separate on/off switch.

Hey could someone take a pic of their fusebox to show how they connected the fog wires to the slots in the 86-87 harness? the pin connectors are flat style.

Thanks for the help.

Damn, Bourne is gonna hate me for this but no install yet...

The guy at Autozone didn't know what the hell he was talking about and when I showed up today he showed me a pair of H11 bulbs. I scrambled to find an autostore with those in stock but negative, they all only have 9006, 9007 and that sort.

So I just decided to order them online. http://autolumination.com/headlights.htm I suggest you order these too Bourne so you can do the install right after I do the write-up. I ordered the H11 ceramic. That's all you need. My gf's dad said he's gonna tap into the parking brake and make a 'butt connection'... whatever that means so you should be good. I'll have step by step directions. I did the 'express' delivery which is 2-5 days so hopefully it's here for this weekend and we can try this AGAIN.

someone from the other forum wrote thisQuote »No I did not take photos but it's easy as pie.

First off purchase a 4 pin, Single Throw/Single Pull 12V 30A replacement light relay. Parts stores usually have them near the driving lights. You will also need some insulated flat female connectors, electrical tape, wire crimps/cutters, and 3 or 4 ring terminals.

The relay should be marked with 4 terminals. 30, 85,86,87.30 = Power/battery85 = Ground86 = Switch/Parking Lights87 = Fog Light

Now get you car in the air. Ramps, or jack stands work (do not leave a car on a jack without stands under it!) Use a flat heads screw driver or a small pry bar to remove the push pins holding the splash sheild up. Pry the center out 1/4" then pull the old pin out.

Once that is off you can access your fog light blanks. One bolt holds it in place and it's vertical above the blank, you'll be able to feel it with your hand. Use a 10mm socket and take it out, the bottom is just held in the a clip, it will pull right off.

Took about 6"s of wire, and put a flat female connector on one side and a ring terminal on the other. Looking into the light opening on the passengers side you will see a bumper bolt, IIRC it was a 14mm not positive on the size. I removed it using a long extension and swivel, a wrench may work also. I put it back on with the ring connecter on it to ground the fog lights. For the drivers side I twisted two 6" peices of wire together. I put a ring terminal on one end, and a flat female connector on the othe rend and where the two are twisted together. Then like the other side remove the bolt, and ground the ring terminal. The middle female connect can be plugged into your relay at the terminal marked 85.

Now you can install the lights in reverse order that blanks came out. Plug your grounds into the light bulbs.

Now I messured enough wire to run from one fog light to the next. On the passengers side end I put a flat female connector and plugged it into the bulb. Then ran it over to the drivers side where I twisted it together with another 6" peice of wire. I took the twisted wires and put a flat female connector on them and plugged them into the drivers side fog light. On the other end of the 6" wire another flat female connector which was then connected to the realy terminal 87.

Take a wire with a female connector on it plugged into the #86 terminal on the relay and run it up to your drivers side parking light bulb. I forgot what color was positive, but you can use a test light or multimeter to check, or leave it unplugged until last and then check to see which one turns the lights on.You can connect the wire several ways. You could splice the factory wire, or use a quick crimp. You could push the wire into the back of the connect and tape it so it doesn't move. Or you could remove the clip and push the bare wire into the clip, fold it back and push the clip back onto the bulb.

Now another wire with a female connector from the #30 terminal up to the battery. You can use a ring terminal or a U terminal. Remove one of the top nuts and put on your terminal and retighten the nut. Make sure your wrench doesn't hit anything metal while doing this.

All Done. Now go and test your lights.

If they don't work make sure you have all the connectors pushed in. If you hear a click the relay is working. If you don't check to make sure that switch wire at the parking light is connected to the positive wire.

When you are sure they work you can mount the relay up and out of the way. I used a ZipTie to another wire harness. I then tucked the wire running across the front end behind the lower part of the bumper cover. Then reinstall your splash sheild. Your all done.[/quote]sounds soooo complicated!!!! please take a lot of pix
