alright....I would love have loved to go head to head against another infiniti when mine was stock...well at least for now it is still stock while we try to figure out what happened to my new rearend. I send you an email. I am having fun tearing up this little G35 sedan. It does shift very smoothly and quick, but when you switch it to the "slap stick" shifting it takes way to long for it to respond to your commands to shift....like I tell it to downshift from 3rd to 2nd and I can count a full 2 seconds before anything starts to happen....it kinda takes the fun out of the "slap stick" as my q shifts right when I tell it to by manually moving the shift lever.

I love downshifting my Q, and flooring it at the same time... It gives you a hard kick and just goes...

rsiwicki - Told you I was willing to bet you would get the performance you wanted in your runs, perhaps even more. UPS probably has your 100LB box at the airport. I've had that happen where they don't get it on the plane(if it needed air transport) because of weight and stick it somewhere and it sits forever because it's heavy. I know it sounds like bull but I got a 120lb order 4 weeks after I got the money back from insurance. That was the excuse they gave me. I know that doesn't help you, but you're not the only one who has had that experience.

Don't punch the wall like I did and break your finger(like I did) and then try to play it off. Nothing like feeling stupid every time someone asks what happened.

Cheer up, the anticipation only adds to the excitement.

thanks for the support redmanfx....and that definetly makes sense what you said as it was an air frieght 2 day shipping which cost me $225 becuase I wanted it here so bad. It is like you said probably being trucked over instead as probably it was cheaper for them to do it this way and will show up maybe in a couple of days.

BTW....I have learned already from my past as I still have 3 very nice scars on my knuckles from the last time I decided to take on a wall....YYYEEEEOOOUUUCCCHHH!!!!!

Here are my 1/4 mile times. I thought I would post all my 1/4 times and dyno runs under one thread.

1st Run = 15.7 @ 88mph2nd Run = 15.8 @ 88mph

I had some extra wheel spin on the second run as I power braked it from about 1,750 rpms. Everyone only got 2 runs in becuase some car dropped oil all over the track and it took them a while to clean it up and then after that they only had on lane open due to the oil slick.

The magic time to beat is about 14.2 seconds as all the little rice runners were running low 14's. Low 14's cars were very common, very few 13's cars. It was almost like either you had a 12 second or better car or a low 14 second car. I of course was bringing in the rear along with a big caddy.

I have got a long ways to go to get to a low 14's in the 1/4. I think that I have a problem with my car though and it seems it is like the knocksensors are acting up again and I had them replaced (should have been all of them) at 117K so I don't know why they would be acting up again. But I'd be damn if it was not them as my car acts like it did about 30K ago when I first noticed the problem. I will be posting my knocksensor question on the other mechanical thread and I am going back to the dealer tomorrow morning anyway for my steering rack.

Your E.T. isn't bad, but the trap seems a little off..

ET indicates driver, and MPH indicates car potential (or something)

The E.T. is only .2 off from stock, but the MPH is about 5 off... seems like something isn't quite up to par...

Yea, I always noticed low 14s is the default.. When I had my tt supra, I killed everybody, and it was bone stock... Those were the days...

We'll get there with our Qs..

Evo's!!! don't mention those things to me as I got my a$$ handed to me last week Friday as I was dropping off my car at the dealer. I had jus taken off from the red light with a nice medium hard acceleration and all of a sudden at about 20mph I hear this little engine from behind me getting on it and I had a solid 2 car lenghts on him...well I dropped to WOT and by the time we hit 70 he was a good car lenght in front of me...that means he moved 4 car lengths from my 20mph to 70mph....yeeouch. I did the autocross in NJ when I lived there for 3 years. I now live in Miami Florida and I just got back from the Moroso speedway in WestPalm Beach. I already promised Heavy that I would pay him a visit up there so maybe we can all meet up some time. That would be great to have 3 Q's running around town in Orlando one night. If you ever want to come to Miami or meet at Moroso to do a few runs, let me know.

Dyno was done by this guys garage where he fixes cars...does not mod them, just fixes them and the owner of the garage likes to have fun so he installed a dyno for himself and anyone else that wants to use it. It is more the owners personal toy rather than a business operation thing. Dyno's usually run about $85 for 3 runs and takes about an hour total. I am going a different dyno shop on Friday which is the best dyno/tuning shop in south Florida for more dyno runs as these guys are the best and should give me my most accurate numbers. The other guy is good and I will go to him again, but I want to check out this guy to see if there is any real difference in the dyno's as q45tech says that they need to be calibrated correctly.

AZ...tell me about it with the trap speed not being up there. I think I have a stroke of bad luck lately as I think my knocksensors are acting up again and they were all replaced 20K miles ago. See my post in the Infiniti online mechanic forum. I about sh_t my pants when I noticed my car missing while I was driving an hour North to the track tonight. I just can't imagine why they would be acting up or what else could be going wrong. I am taking my car to the dealer tomorrow morning for the steering rack issue as they screwed up installing it and I am going to ask them to check out the codes for knocksenors.....Seriously....I was like what the F_ck on the way up.

LOL evo evo evo evo evo!! LOL and who said a evo runs high 13's?? To my knowledge , I know 3 buddies who have evo that run a range of 13.1-13.3 all the time.... Not to say the launching technique in the Evo is not the same as Street. Well I dunno if you guys watched the Video of a 350zTT vs a Modded Evo8. Great video. haha Story behind the guy is that he got rid of the SC and bought the Greddy turbo ASAP. LOL I also have a dyno vid of his car... IT"S SOOO BEAUTIFUL! Oh Sorry....

Well Meeting up in Miami Sure! But not anytime soon i gotta get the Q ready... it's not running right. :( Let me know how that Dyno Shoop goes for you. Fill me in with more info on how the did the dyno... What gear...Mph....?

I am getting like new mods almost every week...here is the list so far..

Already done.FTSBEbaichsToicko Blues20mm Rear Sway bar (I have the "t" model)Stillen Camber adjustments (work really nicely according to Infiniti dealer)All new suspension rubber

This Friday....4.08 rearend

Late Next Week....New LevelTen transmission...I am putting in a 92 transmission with the lower 1st & 2nd gears into my 95 car so that I can close the gap on you 90-93 Q's that spank us 94-96 Q's

There will be some other mods as well coming from BRM

I am trying to design my own CAI...I have the ideas, but my car has been in the shop last 2 weekends getting fixed

Late May or June.....Big Brake Upgrade as per my post. Those brakes are sweet and will help out huge on the autocross track.

Late May...new 18" wheels...ASA AR1's in Chrome finish from Tirerack...they don't arrive until May from Korea

JWT ECU....whenever JWT gets their arse around to building me one as it has been at least 4 weeks since I ordered it.

Also sometime in June...the carbon fiber driveshaft.

As you can see....I am spending some serious monies on my car. I have never done anything like this, but I am having fun. I am determined to get a 14.0 1/4 mile car....one way or the other and I will not be using NOS, turbos, or superchargers. I have got a long ways to go if I am starting out with a 15.7/8 1/4 mile. I should have everything done by the end of June at the latest. Trust me...I am not a talker, I am a doer as the transmission is already built and they are waiting for me to tell them where to ship to be installed. My current tanny is good and was rebuilt about 20K miles ago....I just really want the lower gears and a much stronger transmission that with a higer stall 2,400 that shifts more quickly.

1qckser ...look me up a couple of weeks before you come. I go to South America on business for 3 weeks over May & June. I would love to meet another NICO member and you all can take my car for a spin to see what you think of it as it should be 90% complete by then.

I work in downtown Miami in the financial district...Brickell

thanks for the support on the mods...they are not easy getting all this done in about 3 months is insane. Now if my car was only running right....something new went screwy on it and it is really pi$$ing me off as I just got it back from the dealer yesterday with a $2,300 labor bill (I bought the parts off of Joe $1,200) and told them to check everything and now the damn thing as a huge miss at high rpms under load....speaking of which it is 3:30am and I need to get to bed as I will be at the dealer b_tching them out first thing in the morning about why my engine now has a miss....manana

Quote »Did you find any similarities between the Q and M engine, at high revs? I always thought the M5 v8, had similar characteristics as the Q.. high revving/big power/mean sounding v8[/quote]

Except for power output I thought they were very similar in the way they reved and how smooth the power comes on, really nice power delivery, the one thing it has over the Q is the sound it makes with the stock exhaust, man it sounds awesome, I would take the M over the Vette in a heartbeat, I must say that M5 is a serious car, and that we need some boost to take it down.

Summer in Florida is great....everything is so f'ing hot that you practically wear nothing....and that makes for some great eye candy on the ladies. You would be amazed at the work outfits that some of these women get away wearing down here...this would never happen up North in a conservative environment. Everything you see on Wild on E! - SouthBeach is true and then some...the partying seen and women are unreal and there are more girls than guys here....I'm lovin it for a 31 year old bachelor.

After some jackass wrecked one of the AMG cars we couldnt take em out with out an instructor in the car who did dthe driving, but we got to hammer evrything else, and had great food all day, wasnt bad at all, the BMW event is better, drove a 745 to its limit, drove a 540I sport wagon that pulled the 745 till about 110, drove all of the 3 series, and Floridians favorite the Z4.

1qckser...very well laid out plan you have there for surviving on SouthBeach. I could not have said it better myself, especially with all the good platiques walking on two legs.

Dkill....yeah, it costs some $$ to party, but if you are a local then you learn the ropes quickly and just about every Friday & Saturday night there is one of the best clubs where I or someone has the hookup to get in without paying a $20 cover or waiting in line.

I don't know where the Bell racing school is at, but I have always wanted to do something like that so maybe we can plan to do it together.

I am doing another dyno run tomorrow morning...but my engine is not operating correctly above 4,000 rpms...something is triggering the rpms to drop by about 250rpms while under hard acceleration and then the rpms start to rise again. The dealer was of little help this morning. They can stick it up there A$$ with a capital "A". The F-ing mechanic told me that maybe it was normal for my car to be doing this given it has 137K on it....What the f-ing statment is that. Anyway....does anybody have T3's phone number. Denise....this car is literally weeks away from seeing you as these a$$holes (with another capital "A") can't fix $hit right....and to tell me that is normal. I about dropped the son-of-a-b-tch off about a mile away from the dealer and make his sorry a$$ walk back to the F-ing dealership. Check out my thread for more details in the mechanic forum. Damn...this really pisses me off and sorry but I needed to get it off my chest.

I really need to get this car running perfectly...especially with all these mods so Denise we may see each other very soon if they can't get it right next week Thursday. Ohhh and I can't wait to hear it from the dealer next time I go in there with all the mods....I bet that they would say that the sudden drop in rpms would be related to the new rearend or better yet 18" wheels of which neither would be directly or indirectly related to this problem.
