I want to know who's putting down the big numbers and low 1/4 times and what they're doing to achieve them. I'll be going to track on the 28th and I want to compare setups. Start listing guys.......

Let me rephrase what I want then, because that sticky is worthless to anyone with any sort substantial whp.

Who has broken into the 11's and 10's?

What are your mods?

s14 2510's,

Where are you located in Minnesota? How much whp are you working with, what does your drag setup consist of (tires, engine mods, suspension). Have you already had a few 10 second passes this year?

No last year. It has been apart all this year while I bullit proof the internals so It can reliably handle 600hp and 10k redline with no problem. I should have it up and going by end of winter. I have to make my drysump oil pan and do a few things but it will be going by end of winter for shure. I live in the country kinda by Faribault. It was at 340whp before I tore it apart. I work hella hours and I still cant aford everything i want for it. Kinda a life long project.

s14 2510's,

So you ran 10 second 1/4 times with only 340whp last year? That is amazing. I have over 400 at the wheels and I will only be in the mid 12's on street tires, even on slicks I'd only yield 11 second 1/4 miles. Please give me some tips an tricks ( your setup if possible).

I wanna see timeslips on this 10 second RB26 powered S-anything with only 340whp.

Considering the car would need to weigh about 1800 lbs. to get that low in the traps, and it's physically impossible without a huge huge budget.

Its was done in a 95 240sx before I bought the engine from him and put it in my 96. It had greddy front mount, 2510 turbos for a quick spool, blitz dd, giken twin plate, minor port and polish, I will have to check but I cant remember if he was one or two heat ranges down in plugs at the time, tuned for 110 octane, custom downpipes and apexi n1 gt spec exhaust, car was gutted down to 2 bride seats, I think he had tein rs on there and said he set them soft so he would get the squat of the line and if you want I can ask him what slickes and whell size he was running at the time. It was a 10.8 something. If you want to call it 11 you can. In a month I should be done with the internal work and should be able to handle 600hp and a 10k redline reliably. I still have to finish my dry sump and I want to inprove the hot pipe and git rid of all the factory piping and make one kinda simular to the hks kit. It should be tuned and running full power by the start of next sumer. He couldn't aford to keep the engine because he was having a kid but now we are working to finish fully building and finishng what he started. It has taken me hella lute to get it were it is taday. I could have had a house dam near half paid off.

He wasn't making 340whp when he made a 10.8 pass.

Upgraded turbos, 110 octane, and a 10.8... thats good tires, a good day, a light car, and about 430whp.

Using the Patrick Hale's Formula

A stock RB will hold about 600bhp but you run the risk of nuking a piston, and the rods have been known to snap.

I'm currently rebuilding an RB26 as well, but it's not for me. I don't like the weight.

Do you think I could break tens in my coupe with 450 whp, slicks, and a decent amount of lag (4000 rpm full spool). I was really just hoping for 11's.

Anti-lag will cure the launch, and on tire you should be looking at some 1.6-ish 60's. If you can get it down you will be looking at a 1.5x 60'.

The key is to keep the RPM where it counts, plot your shift points from a dyno sheet, and always keep the RPM higher than the spool point in the next gear (ie. don't shortchange a gear because the power is dropping off, you will bog in the next) but remember as you get into third and fourth is where the car will do alot of it's accelerating due to the load.

A light S13 with 450whp should be capable of tens.
