Got the car as it sits for $5200.00. I'll tell you later if I think we got a good deal or not. I think it's a good starting point. much cheaper than buying, gutting, seam welding, and caging a street car. So who knows. It might be great, it might be junk. I'll let you know after we spend some time at the track with it. Also, you'll see track pics long before you see it painted. There's no way I'm spending money for the shiny until the driver and car are properly set up.

Oh, and I forgot to mention...it's a 98', not a 95' as I previously stated. The front sheet metal we received with the car is all 95', but will be replaced with 98' components during the build.

no there is no work to do. simple as this, replace a couple fuses and reconnect a couple wires, get a seat and drive it.

It actually runs on hopes and dreams, and the much higher octane souls of dead kittens.

Are there any # on the car, I found some pics of a yellow one with the #57 on it... The following article has a list of cars and has a Yellow 240sx #2 in the GT3 class.

http://www.nissannews.com/site...shtml

I also found mention of a yellow 240sx on speedvision in the following posts on Fresh Alloy.

Thanks to a very helpful NICO and http://www.son240sx.ca member we have gotten quite a bit more information about the car. He even posted some pictures of the car on the track! The Drivers name was Ed Schairbaum and it turns out he lives less than an hour from our shop, right here in North Texas. He's moved on and is now driving a Panoz GTS. I'm going to try and contact him and see if I can get more info about the car and it's early life. Here's the link that was provided: http://www.forums.son240sx.ca/...age=2

I don't mind people slamming the car, by the way. I appreciate that everyone has an opinion. And, Yes, the welds aren't beautiful, and the car certainly has a long way to go before it gets back on the track. But still, I think we have a good starting point here and I'm looking forward to breathing new life into the car.

Here are a few more pics for ya:

Better shot of the dash with panels in place. Better but not great (or done). The in need of repair and a serious cleaning, Forge Line wheels. Spindle modified to correct bump steer.Got his racing seat and my 4 year old is ready to race. This seat is ONLY legal in Pro 4yr old.Very well engineered header collector.I'm thinking this rocker panel may have been "re-engineered" once or twice...

There it is. More to come.

I'm excited!!! This car is awesome! Maybe it has kissed the tires, but as you said... For a track car it's a great start! I like the idea of the spindle modifications, but what in the world were they thinking with that dash!?

Great find, keep those pics comming!!!

Welcome to NICO and for sure keep us posted on this, this will prove to be a very interesting project.

After our driver is finished making his marks on the car, but before it hits Pikes Peak (if it all works out and we get it there), the car will be Faman Racing Purple with Pearl bright white and silver metalflake accents. Look at the 67Camaro on the http://www.fatmanracing.com website for an idea of the color. The photos look a little more blue on the site, but in the sun it's more purple. Sort of like this:

This is an old pic and it was scanned in from a photo, so, sorry for the bad quality. But I think you get a decent idea of the colors.

Later,Ken

Yeah, I know it's been a while...

We got a bit sidetracked with the 2007 Pikes Peak Hill Cimb and a new Drag car.

Construction did start on the 240 in November at Lee Kents shop in Castle Rock, Colorado. Progress has been slow to this point since I've taken a new job here.

The KA ended up being a motor built for a "stock" class and we were unable to find actual HP and Torque numbers. Bummer, I know. From what I understand the rules for this class call for all Nissan internals to be used, and only mild modifications were allowed. The head has a nice gasket match port job and the internals have been thoroughly balanced. I had some great pictures of the head and the short block but some loser broke into my truck for Christmas and stole my camera. Damn the bad luck. I will be retaking the photos and posting them here so that you experts can give me a few hints on a few of these parts. And by the way, they are all for sale. Also for sale is the front brake system, which were all taken from a 300Z. We picked up a six pot, two piece rotor kit, which I'll post pics of later, as well.We have decided to go with the SR. I know some of you hate that, but for what we plan to do with the car it just makes sense. It's easy, and relatively inexpensive HP. And for Pikes Peak, the turbo is a big help. I intend at this point to keep it two liter. I'm curious to see what we can do with it.

So, we'll see.

I'll post the new pics as soon as I get them re-taken.

awaiting updates and more pics of this vehicle. He I wondered if not too much trouble could you take some pics of different angles of the front suspension. I'm curious as to how they may have adjusted the steering rack and/or LCAs and other areas.
