This is one of three 1995's that were pulled off the assembly line before completion and sent to a shop where they were seam welded, caged and made ready for the speedvision touring car challenge. Other than that, I don't know much about the car. Last time it was certified and raced was 2001. If anyone has seen this car at the track, or otherwise, please let me know. Just curious about the cars history.

Did you just pick this car up and do I spy Forgelines on the front?

Yes we did. Last weekend, actually. And, yes, those are forgelines on all four corners. The car needs an extraordinary amount of work before we can get it on the track. The KA is reported to have 260hp and 300lb ft., but it's getting torn into, anyway since it's been sitting for who knows how long.

Nope...it's NA. That is just a header. Some crazy engineering went into it, but it's just a header.

Hmmm although possible I doubt it is putting out said numbers without FI. That or you've got one hella expensive motor on your hands.

If this is a Speedvision car, those numbers are correct.

GT3-class S14's make 300hp on NA SOHC KA24E's, mostly built by Rebello Racing.

This is a serious car.

Does the gauge cluster/instrumentation give any clues as to what the rev limit is?

The GT3 cars were something like 10,500rpm, maybe higher, don't remember exactly.

transmission is out of it, the interior is out of it. Basically it's needing updating from front to back, inside and out. This weekend, the motor comes out and we start removing the yellow paint from the roll cage.

It's not a bad car. We still need to see if it will square up. From what I understand it's last race didn't go very well. It ended up in the tires and the entire front from in front of the shock towers was removed and a new section was grafted in place. It looks like it was done really well, so I'm not especially concerned, but we'll see. It's an "all business" race car, for sure, and when you walk around the car and see all the times the sheet metal has been repaired, and bumpers replaced, it's pretty clear that the car was raced hard, and in plenty of traffic. Which is good though. We're hoping that if the car has some "muscle memory" like an athlete, that it will help us along. I'm not holding my breath, though!I'll chronicle the build here as we go along. We'll be doing a basic build at first to get our driver some seat time in this type of car (he comes from a world of much heavier cars), and then we'll make some changes which might include a turbo for the KA. And if the car can handle the horsepower (Big IF) we have an SR that might figure into the plans, as well. So why aren't we going for the SR right off the bat? If we can't make the horsepower handle, then it's just not worth it. Eventually, if the car can handle the power, we will be doing a rebuild specifically for Pikes Peak. But that's a year away, and the car would need to be able to handle extremely well with over six hundred horse. Two wheel drive and fairly strict rules might keep that from happening.

I'm sorry...the car is NA in the sense that there is no Turbo. The car is Fuel injected. The power numbers are 260hp and 300lb ft. The gauge cluster is long gone, unfortunately. But from what i understand this motor is capable of spinning in the 10,000 rpm range. An exact inventory on the internals will be taken shortly. The motor is reported to have very minimal time on it, however, like I said, it has been sitting for an unknown amount of time and will be rebuilt and updated as a matter of course. This is a true speedvision car. Other than what I've said about it here, I really don't know much more about it. I'd love to find someone who has seen it (live) on track or who knows more history on the car. I have a couple sources but information is coming slow so I thought I would ask here.

Hair Bum=sponsor. I think the drivers name was Fumunda Cheese.

A high output NA KA is a rare gem outside of off-road racing.

Good luck on the build.

Wow, what a find. And yeah, that KA is a monster, I would actually cry if it didn't go back in that car... . It takes real engineering to make 260 NA HP.

Keep us updated!

Please don't turbo it or swap it out. If you really don't want it, I would be more than glad to take it off your hands in exchange for money. First dibs, called it, no changing.

high output = high wear and tear, that goes on these engines and they have hours for motor life, then rebuild is necessary. it would be more practical to get a crate ka motor and turbo it

another 2001 Nissan 240SX SCCA GT3/GT2 for sale. but this one is in excellent condition and umm... expensive as well

i'll buy it if i win the lotto!

id be willing to bet it makes close to that power wise...not sure about torque but modern world challenge cars are around there for horsepower...engine probably wont last long though at that level, they use like 3 engines a season

this is an old world challenge car before the series was called world challenge...Greg's buddy has one too

Kinda cool to see that some of you are as excited about this build as I am. This will be my first import. Our last effort was a 1200hp 67 Camaro drag car. I'm looking forward to this.

Here's a few more "as purchased" photos. The first thing I noticed about the chassis was the ugly welds. they're functional...but ugly.

Anothe shot of the Engine bay. This is where the new front was grafted onto the existing sheet metal.Trunk full of parts. BIG exhaust pipe. Might need to replace the mutilated dash. Looks like a monkey F'in a football. I have work to do.

Ken.
