RAID is never a bad idea either IMO. But, all your hard drives need to be the same size...or you're just wasting even more space.


I agree on the 8mb cache, if you can swing the extra few bucks it is worth it. As for raid, its nice if you are paranoid about your data and want a backup if you wanna use the mirror mode, but for the striping mode it is only worth it if you work with lots of large files. for gaming and other normal uses, it can actually slow down data retrieval. Or is it writing. it's one or the other so it actually is kindof a wash.
