Hello everyone

I know i am second to do this but i figured id still create a thread. My build is a bit different than Scotts and well heck turbo builds dont happen all the time. One major difference is that my engine management will be tuned with a tuneable flash from UPREV.

Background: At the end of January 2010 i contacted a company called RT tuning in Lansdale Pa. They informed me that Speed Force Racing had a kit for the 2.5L Altima 02+. RT tuning called SPR and asked if the kit will fit an 2008 altima coupe. SPR said yes it will fit with some slight inter-cooler pipe modification. RT tuning ordered the kit for me. The turbo was on back order for about a month, so it shipped directly from turbonetics. The build was able to begin.

Two days into the build i get a phone call saying the kit doesnt fit. RT tuning decides what they want to keep from the kit and send the rest of the stuff back. As of now i know they kept the turbo manifold, turbo, injectors, oil lines. As for the rest of the crap going into the install i have no idea. I gave these guys my money and trust that they will give me the best bang for my buck. I will list all the parts here when the build is finished.

Today is Thursday 4/15. The build should be complete some time next week.

I dont wanna talk any siht about numbers on this thread til the dyno sheets come out. I was told i will be getting paper and digital dyno sheets. BUT i gave my coupe the name 3.5 killa. haha

I think you actually have to kill a 3.5 in real life (not on paper) before you name it that.. only then will it be worthy... until you run up on a turbo 3.5 that is...

Thank you

The boost is being set to 7psi.

I dont have any real plans of racing my coupe. Nor taking it to the drag strip.

I don't believe it will gain 100 hp. In all actually, you'll have to push from 175 to 270, just to keep up. An average is 1 psi = 10 hp with a good tuned setup. I think you'll be looking at 235hp/210hp, on the upside, you'll probably be looking at a slightly larger increase in torque, most likely around 220ft/lbs to the wheels.

On a side note, I'm sorry to hear the kit didn't fit. I'm not sure what didn't fit exactly in the kit, but if you could relay that information to me, I could let Tim know. I got by his shop quite often.

I think SPR knows about the kit, because my guys called them and explained everything in order to get everything returned. 2 things that stand out to me are on the older generation qr25de's the throttle body comes out parallel with the front of the car. On the coupe it comes out angled slightly to the back of the car. The other issue is there is a fuse box somewhere where the ic piping would have went.

Its a long strange story. And thats not always the answer.

This is my coupe, its almost paid off. When i purchased it i didnt have any loot, not that i do now. But i wanted a car with more pep. I was gonna get a 370 but it snows here alot and calling off from work is unacceptable. i dont like the 3.5SR front end, nor do i like that you have to get leather to get the 6.speed (no offense to anybody). And ive never had a turbo car so i thought it would be cool. Subaru wrx = no. So there is nothing on the market i liked. But i love the way my coupe looks so this was the best plan.

yeah, the 3.5SR is the 2010, and 6MT only with leather (although I can't see why one wouldn't want leather, but its cool)

1. what, you mean you never watched the movie "short circuit" in the 80's? The 2010 looks like Johnny # 5's big brother

2. I agree, for all of its power, the Subaru's look like a$$ to me! They look like boy racer cars, nothing sexy about them AT ALL... looks like something some teenagers would drive... yuck!!!!!

yeah, I know folks have boosted their QR's up to over 300whp, but I can't imagine that that would be a in a daily driver.... maybe I'm wrong..., but I don't see it...

Give to Caesar what is Caesar's ... the Subaru Imprezas have a rally car background and although looks are disputable, the overall package is above average; while our cars, no matter how much we appreciate them, have a sedan ancestry that shed 2 doors so the brand can get coupe market share in the price range.

Once again one can appreciate the work / funds involved, let's wish him good luck and safe boosting, as the transmission is expensive to change if boosted above a safe limit

I look at the Subarus the same way I look at Kobe bryant.... can't really stand to look at him... but I respect the talent...
