I work in Elgin, IL, and see 3 or 4 Versas a day...they are more popular around here than the Honda Fit. I love the Fit, but I like the Versa that much more. I wish I had gotten one, but I love my Sentra.

I told them what I wanted and how much I wanted to pay and they just jerked me around ALL DANG DAY and wasted my entire Saturday. I later found out I still paid too much (and they jerked me around with the interest rate too) when I bought my replacement from Glendale Nissan it was pain free...I got exactly what I asked for, they didn't waste my time and I got a MUCH better interest rate and price.

As for Bill Kay...I agree...since I had the crappy service done there I've heard horror stories about the dealership and sevice department in general that made me NOT go there when buying my replacement Versa.
We get complaints from customers regarding Bill Kay AND Gerald...but I guess there are probably complaints about us to Woodfield, St. Charles Nissan, and all the other area ones. I can honestly say that neither of our service writers or the parts department hose customers, and I can also say that buying a car from us is painless. My family has 3 Nissans (and one Mitsubishi Stratus RT/ES LOL) and we've never had an issue buying the car.

All of a sudden people around here are discovering the Versa. After going along with spotting only one or two on the road every week, I've seen 11 different Versas in the last eight days!

Where I live, I have probably seen a grand total of five Versas in the past 12 months. And about as many Fits. A lot more Yarii around.

When I go to Tokyo, I see 10 Fits and 15 Yarii for every Tiida.

I apparently have a knack for seeing them in pairs in the opposing highway traffic... as I went from Hickory to Asheville North Carolina, I saw two sapphire blue HBs...

i bought my V 2 weeks ago tomorrow, and I've seen about 6 or 7 in that amount of time...

probably the same number of Honda Fits, 3 Toyota Yaris, and 2 Scion xA's. Oddly, all the Versas I've seen have been HBs - no sedans... ???

I pulled into the local WalMart parking lot the other day and in the spot directly across from me was another Mag Gray Versa starng back at me! I almost thought I parked in front of a mirror! So, naturally, I wanted to see what the "other guy" got in his V and I got out and walked around the vehicle only to find out it wasn't a HB like mine but a Sedan!

The first sedan I've seen not on a dealer lot

The day before that, I cruised next to a white one briefly before speeding my way down the highway... still had the window sticker ;oD
I think you saw me! I go back and forth to Asheville, NC regularly to visit family. I've seen Versa that fits the description of yours near Berea twice.

Yay!

When the Versa was originally released (as a Hatchback only, for the first... 6 months), Nissan planned to make 40% hatchbacks and 60% sedans.

Nissan was completely blind-sided with how well the hatchbacks sold, which is why early on there was around a 2 month waiting list to get one. When they saw that, they revised their production quotas to make 60% hatchbacks and 40% sedans, last I heard.

You're right, though... I see WAY more hatchbacks than sedans, and 6 more months of production of hatchbacks does not fully explain it. I would not be surprised if Nissan changed the numbers again and are producing something like 70% HBs and 30% sedans.

They also shot themselves in the foot a little with the sedan. My best friend was about to go out and pay cash for a fully loaded SL 6MT sedan, only to find that Nissan dropped the 6-speed in the SL sedan for '08... and there were no more similarly equipped '07s. (He will probably end up buying a loaded SL 6MT hatch now)

Saw a black V pass me in a parking lot in COuntryside, IL today that had some sort of intake built into the hood. Not sure what it was because we were passing each other so I couldn't get a good look....wish I did though

Update.

There are lots of Versi around here. I see one practically every day. Sat in traffic and there were two others besides mine at an intersection. Looks like the Versa is going to be a hit.

But we all knew how good the car was already, didn't we fellow early adopters?
