Discussion of E-Brake & Speed Sensor Override (instructions in "Stuck" thread)

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

It sounds like one of the wires are incorrect. You should really make sure the correct wires were cut. Triple check all the pin locations. Don't worry about the color of the wires, it is ALL ABOUT THE PIN LOCATION! Done correctly, you should not have any "issue"lights. GOOD LUCK!

Good to hear! Did you notice that your Speed Sensitive Volume no longer functions? Not a big deal, but it no longer works.

Figured I would mention it, you could always go back and install a switch there, that way you can switch from "Stock" to "modified".

New guy here with an '08 EX35 with the Premium Package (with Nav).

I have read through this thread with much interest.

Just to confirm: I am interested only in enabling those Nav options that are greyed out while the car is moving (don't need the video option). If I understand correctly, I need only to modify VSS pin 38. With the modification I lose my speed sensitive volume (which is okay with me), but there is no Nav delay or tracking problems etc...

Do I understand correctly or did I miss something?

Here is a link to the EX35 FSM, this will show you where to locate the two wires.

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/EX/2008/

You need to cut the VSS wire, and the E-Brake wire and either install a DPDT switch or use the relay pack sold by member Tintmasters (Shane). Here is a link to the instructions of this same mod on the Armada / QX56:

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions, I have done this mod on several vehicles, it is pretty straight forward. :chuckle:

Hello, new to the forum and this is my first post.
I am looking into this bypass but the thread posted by dividedhighw seems to be missing all the info from it. Is it possible for somebody to PM me or email me the instructions? Thanks a lot and looking forward to getting some great info on this site.

Cheers

Hans

Sorry for the delay!!!!!!!!! Welcome to NICOclub! Glad to have you here in the EX35 Forum! Please let me know if you have any questions on this, unfortunately the poster of those instructions must have had some issues with the hosting of the photos. Here is a link to the same modification in the Armada / QX56 Forum. I personally have done this mod on several Armada and Murano models. EX35 is the same, you should consult the EX35 service manual to pull the dash pieces apart. Here is the link to the Armada instructions:

Please let me know if you have any more questions!

OK, the "stuck" thread that contained instructions for this is now blank. The posts have been cleared and the thread is not longer a sticky.

How do we go about getting the instructions for overriding the speed sensor for the 2008 EX35 with NAV?

My apologies, but the search features of this forum are not so hot (I can't find "Advanced Search").

Thanks!

Mark

Nothing wrong with reviving an old thread! This is a good thread!

One or both of your wires are grounded improperly. Make sure the two wires you cut are 100% correct. The two that you cut coming out of the back of the AV unit should go to a good ground. The other end of those cut wires need to be left connected to nothing.

Double check that and let me know what you find out, don't worry, we can get this working correctly.
