All I can say is that the only problem I have with this board is that fact that its 99% 240SX guys, then again, I wanted to be one of them for a while, and added on, most of them are really cool... I wish there were more people on the Sentra/200SX forums... so that questions get answered in less than 24hrs... Oh well... long live NICO.

You know, I tried to browse the 240SX forums at one time, but the level of English was below the remedial level and the topics I could read were mostly filled with unsubstantiated opinions not always pertaining to the 240SX.

Wonder if that had anything to do with its decline?

The Infiniti General is mostly well informed and thoughtful, as is the Infiniti Mechanic, Tires and Wheels, and Nissan Engineering. They thrive because they are relevant and informative.

Perhaps time for the 240SX core people to bootstrap the forum themselves and forego the teenage angst that permeated it. Just a thought.

Maxnix, it's been tried to a degree without success...we can't be running off every new person that makes a stupid post and still have a good community ;)

Our Nissan Mechnic section is strong as is 240SX technical and the engine forums.

240SX general is a bit rowdy, but it doesnt bother me too much.

If there's linking between sites, I'd like to see a Nissan webring, where a bunch of Nissan sites are listed in a links page. I've seen it at some of the DSM sites, and I think it'd be pretty sweet for the Nissan community. Of course that would mean contacting a bunch of other sites and saying, "I'll link to your site if you'll link to ours,". A link to G20.net would be cool too. I didn't even know it existed until I read this thread. I'll have to check it out because my girlfriend has a '93 and I'm her official mechanic. I almost bought a '92 G20, but the lot was never open when I stopped to look for it, and I stumbled onto my 240. As for 240 owners being so common on this site, that's nothing unusual. With the recent attention import mags are giving drifting, they're becoming the trendy car now. This is my favorite Nissan site. All the sites that are dedicated exclusively to 240s are dominated by teenagers saying, "Yo yo, check it, I gotz to get me a S13 and build the phattest drift ride eva!". That happens some here too, but not as much. Even though I'm from eastern Kentucky, I'm pretty well educated and it annoys me when people who can't put a sentence together are jumping on the 240 bandwagon because it's the "in" thing. Here (except maybe in the 240 general section) we have true enthusiasts who would love their car even if it isn't in Super Street every month. BTW, sorry for such a long post.

As a teenager (only 2 more months of it!) I'd like to say that some of us think the whole drifting thing is stupid...it's nothing more than sliding a car around, ain't nothin special :D

Sailing is different, when I get bored I can go swimming, I get to see my girlfriend in a bikini (never a disappointment), I can go fishing...all kinds of fun stuff! I'm just weird, I haven't liked football since 5th grade when my own team tackled me for running the wrong way. oops!

Kinda like car nuts who know way too much about cars. To each their own. I prefer cars to sports.

I didn't mean any offense to teenagers in general, but you know what I'm talking about. I know that you didn't buy your car because you saw D1 coverage in Super Street.

G20.net may go down soon due to lack of funds :( but Right now their hardcore members are coughing up some cash.. thats a good thing about NICO's advertising :)

maybe NICO could offer the g20 community a section on this site if all else fails for them, but I do not know how they would accept.

It's already been offered and we are working on a negotiation as we speak.

The cool thing about that is that you guys should be able to import those members and posts into the NICO database? That may be possible, I'm not sure.

We can definitely import all their archived posts. However, it may be easier for their members to re-register rather than trying to import all the user names. Plus, a lot of G20.net members have already registered for NICO.
