This makes me miss "THE RING" where we had intelligent filth and humor... I'm with Sky on this one... the 240 general section has gone to s***...

On the flip side... parts of this thread did make me laugh... with guilt... but it was a laugh non-the-less!

If I remember correctly I think it was because themonarch read through most of the stuff on there and got all offended so they cleaned it up then just eventually closed it down. I miss those days as well. Fun times.

Actually, it had nothing to do with Nancy (the monarch).

The Ring was closed down because too many people who had no business going in there went there anyway.

They got their arses handed to them by some of the more skilled wordsmiths among us, took it all WAY too seriously, and several got all butt-hurt and resorted to personal attacks, tantrums and outright threats.

Took all the fun out of it.

I thought I'd read everything there was to read on the net, and then somebody comes up with that. Well, either somebody is really stupid, or just being very sarcastic and trying to make someone mad. I don't think I've evr seen any crap like that, and I used to hit the chat rooms a lot.
