Who would be interested in a cvt to 6mt kit?it would include all wiring diagrams, parts numbers to order or to salvage and all adapter plates already built and ECU flash if needed with the 6MT one.

Install would be a one weekend thing that you could do following the provided tutorial and all tools would be listed so you can rent or borrow them in advance.

price would range from

500$~750$ + you get your parts and you install it yourself

to

500$~750$+ 1000$~1500$ for the parts refurbished/new from nissan + 50$hour install (x) 10h max = 2000$~2750$

Price isn't final, could be a lot less

It's not April 1st... so SIGN ME UP!

I've been considering trading for a new 6MT but the depreciation would be way more than that!

Ferguson makes a valid point! You'd lose more $$ trading in the car for a 6MT. Cheaper to go this route!

I know it can be done, some guy on the acura forums changed over his auto transmission for a 6MT

Yeah, not to mention the pain of trying to switch the current car back to stock wherever possible, then put the goodies on the new car! This way, same car with all the stuff you've already done!

I am very interested in this. When I bought my A/C, the dealer didn't have one in 6mt and I wanted my car right then. I didn't think I would care too much, but every time I drive my car in the "manual mode" I cry a little on the inside. I would be a bit worried about the warranty being voided, especially because I got the extended one. Yeah, I'm a sucker.

My interest is definitely there, but I'm not sure if I would buy it right when this kit is released.

damn man I wouldnt even wanna consider this to anyone. From past experience, theres A LOT of things that needs to be done to get this done right. You might have to cut and splice your wire harness or might even have to change out the whole harness, change your intake manifold bcus of the IACV and what not, then you might have to change your ECU bcuz the ecu from an auto and manual is different. Youre gonna need the right mounts for your manual trans bcuz the auto and manual trans got different mounting brackets. Dude, trust me this isnt no weekend job. Lets say you get all the things installed, your car might throw some codes like youre running too rich and what not (had that happen to me too). The transmission and ECU alone is gonna cost you an arm and leg. But yea man to whoever still wants to proceed with doing this, atleast wait till a company like ACT makes some aftermarket clutch kit. This way, your trans will be ready for when you wanna boost your car. In fact, for all you guys talkin about boosting your cars, you guys should be bugging them for an aftermarket clutch kit. But yea, goodluck and think about this twice or even better three times before proceeding with this project. Goodluck though.

A dealership in my area said I'd have to pay 5k USD out of pocket if I traded in my '09 coupe for a 6MT version with the same packages, and that was when it still had under a thousand miles

I'd be interested if this didn't completely void the warranty on my almost-new '09. This kind of thing doesn't sound like a weekend job either.

I tend to downshift on my way to stoplights and just let the car coast, although it's probably pointless since the computer automatically downshifts into "first" if you come to a complete stop. No idea I'd it's bad, though...

When I come to stoplights, I just let the auto go to first.

I've been wondering what the price would be to do this on our cars for awhile now, just hadn't looked into it very hard. My boyfriend's dad is a mechanic with his own shop so labor wouldn't be an issue so long as I could get all the parts together... However, with some peoples cars on here having transmission issues, my most recent idea was to just drive the CVT really hard and hope the transmission goes out before the warranty Seriously though, a kit would be awesome!

i hear you, but the job will take a bit more than simply replacing a transmission and how manny here have even ever dropped or worked on a transmission before. sounds like it wouldn't be worth it, but i'm curious who the company is that would be willing to attempt selling a kit for it.

all i know is that my brother has a C5 corvette automatic and his transmission went out and he said he'd have it fixed for like $2,000 and if he were to try and swap it to a stick shift it would be $5,000..... i hear about ppl doing LS1 swaps all day and transmission swaps with vettes and camaros and other american cars.... so IMO (which i don't really have much background experience) is that it should be pretty expensive (at lease as much as an older american car).... this all sounds really nice but it seems waaaaaaay too good to be true.... but if you can get it all to work out i give you

I wouldn't do this. Its gonna take 6-8k to do something like this. Not worth the money in the least to me. The electrical by itself would be an absolute nightmate. Just curious Mehdi, who is doing something like this?
