Found a new "feature" of my new M45...

Trip to Atlanta on I 85 and lots of open road, caravan of cars running quick, tried to set my cruise and it wouldn't take, tried a few times, slowed down below 90 and it set, guess it's locked out above 90

...anyone else notice this?

On page 5-19 of the Manual its says that the cruise control is limited to speeds between 25 - 89 MPH.

You clearly read it a lot more closely than I did!

I skimmed that bible sized book!

Thanks,

Yes, the limit is about 90mph in the M. This upper limit used to be a lot higher (125mph) in the first-gen Q45!

I discovered that on a long-distance, high-speed trip from California to Texas back in 1992.

I think everyone can understand why they don't want cars on cruise control over 90 MPH. If you want to drive that fast, at least you have to have your foot on the gas and maybe your attention on the road!

Personally, I'd find it a useful feature.

Driving on long straight lightly travelled roads - like szhosain's trip across Texas - would be nice to have and perfectly safe.

Not a big deal in any case.

Here is an old thread at NICO that is very interesting!

zerothread?id=100

And this one, albeit not about high-speed driving:

zerothread?id=41391

Loads of fun! I have slowed down a bit since then - both in terms of speed and also kills!
